Our Street Dance classes bring out a huge amount of talent, technique and enthusiasm in their students, and teach street dance to modern music. A lot of children learning ballet technique enjoy relaxing with street dance as an additional style to master, others prefer to focus solely on street as their dance style of choice! Each of our friendly and enthusiastic dance teachers have trained professionally and performed ballet, contemporary and street dance at national and international levels. Street dance lessons are taught to a particularly high standard, structured around choreography that will help your child’s technique, comprehension and ability. Both complete beginners and those with existing dance experience will learn and evolve their technique through structured terms of dance lessons. This Street Dance class is suitable for children aged 5+.

A combined age class covering the motor skill development of the CATERPILLAR, ANTS, LADYBIRDS, BEETLES & GRASSHOPPER classes for a NEW or expanding centre. During the session trained coaches will follow the RUGGERBUGS programme ensuring that your child participates in age-appropriate activities. This normally involves dividing the children into different age groups. Parent participation is a MUST for children under 3.5 years to assist with your child’s understanding and participation and provides for some valuable parent-child bonding time. For children aged 3.5 years onwards the basics of Tag Rugby and core values of rugby are gently introduced with the emphasis of FUN still very much at the heart of the session. RUGGERBUGS understands the importance of learning through repetition, so the activities and equipment have been specifically designed to support this learning process and build self-esteem. Important “skills4life” are gently introduced to begin developing your child’s language, communication, listening skills and building self-esteem. The session also allows for your child to start interacting with other children of the same age. Trained coaches are on hand to explain, encourage and support with the activities. At the end of each session your Child will receive a weekly Sidney Sticker to collect and stick on their Sidney Sticker Chart. As class numbers grow the sessions will be divided into relevant age group sessions and times. As your child progress through the RUGGERBUGS “Head Start” Programme they will achieve “SIDNEY SKILL AWARDS” in line with the programme structure and criteria. These will be assessed and monitored at the end of each term and allow a smooth transition into the next class when your child is ready.

Our baby classes are for children aged 6 months to when they start walking. It's a great time to introduce babies to the world of music and dance and supports their early development. We use a variety of sensory props to engage them, including; glow balls, bells, scarves, pom-poms, ribbons and feathers. We sing nursery rhymes, boogie along to pop music, their favourite TV theme tunes and listen to a variety of world music. It is a fantastic class to bond with baby and help their coordination with clapping, waving, reaching for props and so much more! Little Kicks is the perfect introduction to the fun world of Little Kickers and is suitable for children aged 1.5yrs - 2.5yrs old. Children are introduced to the basics of football, dribbling, striking, goal scoring etc in a play-oriented yet structured format, using child-friendly but realistic football equipment. Each child is given the opportunity to work within their ability level but taught in a group environment. Classes also provide a fantastic opportunity for you to assist in your child’s early education, helping them develop physically as well as improving cognitive and social skills. Classes run on a rolling monthly billing cycle (*plus a one-off registration fee which includes your child’s shirt and shorts).

Older toddlers have fun with their friends and develop a strong musical foundation for their future learning. TIME TO SING Songs for dressing up and telling simple stories! ‘Pretending’ is an important new area of learning as exploration and self expression builds self confidence. Through positive music interaction with each other, our toddlers are also learning important lessons about boundaries and how to handle frustration! TIME TO MOVE Toddlers are keen to get to know each other – bigger more exciting props such as hoops and parachute are excellent for sharing and making friends! Holding hands with partners in Monkey’s circle dances often makes the grown-ups feel very happy too! TIME TO PLAY Composing music is something that comes naturally to our Jiggety-Jiggers! Their strong musical foundation gives them super musical confidence. Props, images, music, stories and poems inspire our little monkeys as they create and perform their own special music. TIME TO SLEEP Most of our classes end with a little time for quiet reflection. Our Jiggety-Jiggers are gently reminded to practise new songs at home using some song words which may be printed from the Monkey Music Club. They may also be invited to bring something from home, to show in class the following week, as part of class topic discussions. Our Monkey Music Jiggety-Jig classes are Stage three for 2 + 3 years old.

diddi dance classes are funky, full of fun 45 minute dance sessions that build confidence, co-ordination, and creativity. diddi dance engages children's natural energy and enthusiasm by using action songs, dancing games, fun exercises, props, ribbons, and hoops to our own original funy pop songs. Our classes change theme every half-term exploring 16 different dance styles including salsa, country, hip hop, and tap - catering to all tastes. We are here to nurture their natural love of movement so classes follow a structured plan yet are taught in a relaxed environment where children can learn at their own pace as their confidence grows alongside their enjoyment.

Mighty Kickers are confident with boundless energy and this is catered for in the lesson plans. Classes are suitable for children aged 3.5yrs - 5yrs old. Our games are fast-paced and increasingly football-focused, with fun still at the heart, meaning that even new starters easily pick them up. Children begin to understand the importance of team play and matches are gradually introduced. Classes are run on a rolling monthly billing cycle (*plus a one-off registration fee which includes your child’s shirt and shorts)

A combined age class covering the motor skill development of the BEETLES & GRASSHOPPER classes. During the session the trained coaches will follow the RUGGERBUGS programme ensuring that your child participates in age-appropriate activities. This normally involves dividing the children into different age groups. Your Child will now be developing “buckets” of confidence and self-esteem and will be autonomous in completing the rugby inspired activities on their own or as part of a group with the support and guidance of trained coaches. Parents can now take a well-earned rest on the side-lines but always on hand to provide a bit of support and encouragement when needed. For Year R children basic motor skills are now enhanced with more demanding rugby inspired skills, drills and games sequences further developing your / a child’s co-ordination, body awareness, controlled movement, and spatial awareness. The basics of Tag Rugby and core values of rugby are now gently introduced with the emphasis of FUN still very much at the heart of the session. For Year 1 children the focus is very much on FUN with more exacting skills, drills, and games to benefit the maturing child and bring together all the elements of the programme and their learning before they GRADUATE. Your child will continue to build on their physical, social, and cognitive development and gain more understanding of the basic concepts of rugby through evasion games where they and learn how to TAG and play as part of a small team. They continue to apply what they have learnt to perform activities through planning and evaluation of their actions to understand and improve their performance in order that they can move into U7’s mini rugby with ease and put into practice what they have learnt. At the end of July (final session) your child’s achievements are celebrated with a GRADUATION ceremony.

The Young People's Acting Project entails a series of workshops, scripted sessions, and rehearsals. You're welcome to simply turn up and participate each week, but please note that spots are limited, making early booking strongly advised. By engaging in this project, you'll culminate in a live performance at Chickenshed featuring lights, music, and costumes at the end of the Summer term. No previous experience is necessary. Term dates Young People's Acting Project runs every week, 1.30 - 3.30pm,, from 21 Apr to 14 Jul, excluding 26 May and 9 Jun. What is Sunday Shed? Sunday Shed is the perfect way to get involved with Chickenshed for the first time. There are drop-in workshop and performance projects held every Sunday!
