But at most big events on Bonfire Night in London there are lots of ways to keep the kids’ spirits high as they wait for the fireworks. These days, funfair rides and stage shows are common features. Across the London firework displays below you’ll nearly always also find tasty street food and autumnal treats if anyone in the family needs an energy boost.

Coram’s Fields is one of London’s best free Bonfire Night events (if not the best). Beyond fireworks, in 2026 there will be fairground rides and live stage performances.
There are a couple of policies to be aware of: entry is first come, first served, and adults aren’t allowed in without a child.

- Timings: Gates open at 3.30pm. Stage shows start at 4.15pm. The event closes at 7pm.
- Free entry: You don’t need a ticket. But entry depends on space, so arrive early.
- Fast-Track: Paid Fast-Track tickets guarantee entry and skip the queue. Each covers 1 adult and 1 child, with add-ons for extra people.

Firework Night at The Sherriff Centre (West Hampstead, NW6)

Grown-ups pay less at The Sherriff Centre than at any other paid event on Bonfire Night in London on this list: just £3.50. A child’s ticket is £5 and comes with a hot dog.
The event takes place at a church with one of the best soft play centres in London. It costs extra but means that while you wait for the 8pm fireworks, kids can climb and slide in the warmth of indoors. Speaking of warmth, for parents there is a licensed bar. At the time of writing, there are only a few tickets left.

- Timings: Doors open at 5.30pm. The event runs from 6pm to 9pm.
- Soft play: A 1-hour slot is a £2 add-on. Pre-book it, as there are only 48 places per hour.

The Walker Ground Fireworks (Southgate, N14)

At The Walker Ground, the fireworks share the sky with a drone show.
Before the main event, there’s a funfair, live music, and food and drink. Under-5s go free, which helps if you have little ones. A family ticket for two adults and two children costs £43.

Totteridge Fireworks Night (Totteridge, N20)

Totteridge Fireworks Night begins with a bonfire lighting at 6.30pm, over an hour before the fireworks. But to fill the time in between, kids’ rides and food stalls open from 5.30pm.
After the fireworks display, grown-ups can stay on for a live band, bar and fire pits until 1am. The family ticket is more generous than most as it also covers three children, rather than the usual two.

With a name like Gunpowder Mills, this is a fitting venue for Bonfire Night. Guy Fawkes himself will turn up, along with other historical characters.
Kids can also see musketeers from Rawdon’s Regiment show off their weapons. There’s a UV glow disco and fire performers, too. The site is just over the London border, so plan your journey ahead.

- Timings: 4.30pm to 8pm. Last entry is 6.45pm.
- Parking: Limited, and only with a prepaid ticket. Walk or use public transport if you can.
- Not allowed: Outside food and drink, alcohol, sparklers and dogs. Bags are searched.

Stow Firework Spectacular runs for three nights, giving you more flexibility as to when to go.
Each night has two displays. The 6pm Twilight display is the earlier option for younger kids. The 8pm Spectacular is the big one.

Sunday is the better pick for families. The fireworks start earlier and a Taylor Swift tribute act will perform.

Fireworks in the Park at Wimbledon Park (Wimbledon, SW19)

Wimbledon Park is one of only three fireworks events on our list on Bonfire Night itself. You can choose from two musical displays. The 6.45pm show is designed for younger children and families.
For 2026, there’s a new observation wheel with views across South London. Lisa Maffia is also doing a DJ set.
According to Merton Council, the shows are very likely to sell out.

Fireworks in the Park at Morden Park (Morden, SM4)

Morden Park hosts Merton Council’s second Fireworks in the Park night, two days after Wimbledon’s. The set-up is the same, with two displays set to music.
We suggest booking the 6.45pm show if your kids are young, or the 8.30pm show for a later night. The new observation wheel is here too. A big-name DJ is still to be announced.

Dulwich Firework Display (Dulwich, SE24)

The Dulwich Firework Display has South London’s cheapest child tickets. Thanks to its “Kids for a Quid” deal, under-12s get in for £1.
The display raises money for the sports club. Live music runs from 5.30pm, with singer Matthew Lynch playing crowd favourites and kids’ songs. The fireworks go off at about 7pm, rain or shine.

- Timings: Doors open at 5pm. The event ends at 7.30pm.
- Tickets: None are sold on the night. At the time of writing, only a few are left.
- Getting in: Use the Giant Arches entrances off Burbage Road and Turney Road. There’s no parking on site.

Beckenham Charity Fireworks has the earliest fireworks in South London. A quieter display for smaller children starts at 6pm. The main show follows at 7.30pm, and both are set to music.
This community event has raised money for local charities since 1946. Between displays, you’ll find a fairground and food and drink stalls.

Chiswick Rugby’s family ticket is the best deal on our list for bigger families. For £30, you get both parents and all their kids.
Every ticket includes a donation to Maggie’s Cancer Charity. The bonfire is lit at 6.30pm, an hour before the fireworks. You’ll also find bars, street food, face painting and live music. We advise booking early, as it sold out last year.

Sands End Arts & Community Centre is the only event on our list without fireworks. Instead, it’s a cosy community celebration on Bonfire Night itself.
Kids can make their own Guy Fawkes and try water-free apple bobbing in the Walnut Grove. There’s also painting, marshmallows and other creative activities. It’s a gentler choice if fireworks are too loud for your little ones.

Bonfire Night events in London are often muddy. In our experience, big crowds churn up the grass, especially after rain. Most displays on our list take place on parks, commons or sports pitches. So wellies or old trainers are a safe bet for the whole family.
What should kids wear to Bonfire Night?
Kids should wear warm layers, a hat and gloves to Bonfire Night. You’ll often be outside for two or three hours. Waterproof shoes help, as the ground can get muddy. A waterproof coat is worth packing too, as many events go ahead rain or shine.
Should kids wear ear defenders at fireworks?
Ear defenders are a good idea for babies, toddlers and kids who dislike loud noises. Fireworks can be startling up close. For a gentler start, some London events run quieter or earlier displays for younger children. Beckenham has a quieter display at 6pm.
Which Bonfire Night events in London are best for toddlers?
The best Bonfire Night events for toddlers have early fireworks. Coram’s Fields, Stow and Beckenham all have displays at 6pm. So does Alexandra Palace on Sunday, when it runs a family day with fewer people. Wimbledon Park and Morden Park both have an early show at 6.45pm.
Do I need cash for Bonfire Night events?
Some Bonfire Night events are card only, so take a card as well as cash. Totteridge Fireworks Night doesn’t accept cash at all. Funfair rides usually cost extra on top of your ticket. That’s the case at Blackheath and the Gunpowder Mills.
Do London fireworks displays sell out?
Many London fireworks displays sell out, so book early. Richmond has sold out four years in a row. Blackheath and Chiswick both sold out last year. Battersea Park and Dulwich don’t sell tickets on the night. Merton Council says its Wimbledon and Morden shows are very likely to sell out.
How much are Bonfire Night tickets in London?
Across the 14 paid fireworks events on our list, an adult ticket costs £13.73 on average. A ticket for a seven-year-old averages £7.61. The cheapest adult ticket is £3.50, at The Sherriff Centre. Coram’s Fields is free. These prices don’t include booking fees, and Battersea is based on its £16.70 general admission price.
