About
Would you like to join London Youth Folk Ensemble?
Come to our free Sampler Session at Cecil Sharp House.
All instruments welcome!
You will need to:

• Be able to play confidently on your own chosen instrument
• Bring your own instrument
"Learning by ear means I have gained a more intuitive and collaborative approach to music which is really fun and enables me to be creative"
London Youth Folk Ensemble (LYFE) meets regularly from September to July and performs at exciting events across London and beyond.
LYFE is open to confident musicians of any instrument. This means that you should be able to play your instrument independently and confidently, but do not need to have passed any particular grade. All music is taught by ear and no previous experience of folk music is needed.
LYFE is an annual commitment. Places will be offered after you attend this free Sampler Session.
About English Folk Dance & Song Society
At the English Folk Dance and Song Society, we champion the folk arts at the heart of England’s rich and diverse cultural landscape.
We deliver programmes of learning and participation, artist development and networking for educators:
• Online and at a range of venues across England, and sometimes beyond
• Through our arts venue, Cecil Sharp House
• Through our library and archive, the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library
We frequently work in partnership with arts, education and heritage organisations.
We have around 3000 members worldwide – most of whom are active participants in music, song, dance, storytelling, customs and traditions.
