 Part of the annual Transmission residencies showcase. Discover work-in-progress sharings of new circus and physical theatre, with tickets priced at just £1.

Optical illusions happen because our brains (re)create much of what we see.

We usually think there’s only one true reality, but the way we see things is shaped by our personal experiences and backgrounds. Realising this can make us more aware of our hidden biases.

By using play and wonder, dance, circus, video design, impossible perspectives and extreme physicality, Bending Reality encourages you to stay open to the idea that things and people might be different from what you originally thought.
