About The Emperor and the Nightingale
Join Grethe Mangala Jensen, aka Sandal Sticks Theatre, for a fun, interactive adaptation of the H.C. Andersen story The Emperor and the Nightingale.The Emperor of China loves to listen to the song of the nightingale which roams the palace gardens.
He talks of nothing else and does not care for other music or presents, until one day he receives a gift from the Emperor of Japan… a shiny, bejewelled, mechanical bird, the only one in the world – will his feelings change about the real nightingale.
Grethe returns to Jacksons Lane after her sell out performance of The Tinder Box & Other Nordic Tales in March 2021.
She also brings another of her stories, The Snow Queen in January 2022.
