The Royal Albert Hall is the world’s most famous stage. Throughout its 150-year history, it has welcomed a who’s who of world-renowned figures: artists, athletes and activists. No other place on earth has played host to Winston Churchill, Albert Einstein and Muhammad Ali; Ella Fitzgerald, The Beatles and Adele. Christmas at the Royal Albert Hall is set to return at full capacity after two years, with nearly 40 shows over 24 days as part of the venue’s 150th anniversary celebrations.

About Christmas with the Royal Choral Society

The celebrated  Royal Choral Society was formed as part of the Royal Albert Hall’s official opening, and the 150-strong choir has sung here every Christmas since 1872.

This year will be a very special 150 year anniversary concert, accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Richard Cooke.

Special guests include Soprano Mary Bevan and organist Richard Pearce.

In honour of Ukraine, a beautiful Ukrainian carol Spy Isuse Spy (Sleep Jesus Sleep) by Roxanna Panufnik will be performed, alongside the famous Carol of the Bells by Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych.

We can’t wait to welcome the choir back to its spiritual home in 2022 with a festive programme packed full of glorious carols old and new.
