The Conservatoire is the focus of arts education and events in South East London and provides exceptional lifelong learning. Our values centre on Creativity, Quality and Community. We are a charity offering group classes and Individual Tuition in Music, Art and Drama. We cater for all ages – from babies to retirees, welcoming over 2000 students a week to our inspiring cultural community.

About The Queen's Beasts

 The Queen’s Beasts are a selection of mythical and heraldic creatures that were made into beautiful plaster statues for the Queen’s Coronation in 1952.

Who made them, you ask? Well, that would be James Woodford OBE, brilliant artist and art tutor at Blackheath Conservatoire!

In this half day workshop you will design and build a Beast sculpture of your own, which you can take home to guard the entrance to your room.

The original Queen’s Beasts were a lion, greyhound, yale, dragon, horse, unicorn, griffin, bull and falcon... which would you pick for your own Beast? Or which animal or creature would you add to the list?

Come and join our expert tutor for half a day of sculptural fun and celebration.
