Our Arts & Crafts camps in Partnership with Teddy Bear Nannies run during the school holidays at Laureate Academy, Hemel Hempstead. The sessions are for boys and girls aged 4-13, our popular holiday camps provide children with the fun of bringing out their creative side with Arts, Crafts, Music, Dancing & Multisports. Our camps will feature special themed activities. We offer 20% discount if you book all week. Siblings will receive 10% discount if booked on the same day (only applies to day bookings not if you receive the 20% both days).

During our KidsArt classes children are taught how to paint, draw, print, work with clay, sculpt, collage, use soft and oil pastels, and other core techniques, whilst at the same time learning about famous artists and their styles – each project is inspired by an artist or art movement. We cover a huge time range including prehistoric art through early civilisations, Medieval and Renaissance art, Islamic art, Mannerism, Baroque and Romanticism, pre-Raphaelites, Neo-classicism, Realism, the birth of Modern art, Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Cubism, Futurism, Abstract art, Surrealism, Expressionism, Pop art, contemporary art movements, sculpture through the ages, and art from non-Western European traditions – including American, Chinese, Japanese, Indian and Aboriginal artists. Where appropriate sessions reference current London exhibitions. KidsArt!’s core aim is to teach children to become accomplished and proficient artists who take pride in their artwork, and to nurture and encourage an informed love of art. Children are given the self-confidence and technical skills to produce their own original art work inspired by a good background understanding of art movements over the centuries. We provide a fun, stimulating and engaging experience and, over the programme courses, children will build up an impressive portfolio of their own work. Artwork is sent home as it is completed, accompanied by an illustrated factsheet which records what the children have learned about the artist and the art techniques employed. The children are provided with good quality sketchbooks for use in class to record techniques learnt and for sketching on gallery visits.

We are a charity exploring with the next generation of designers, consumers and decision makers what sustainable fashion is and how to do it. In this captivating course, you'll learn how to develop your own unique dress sense and become a responsible designer, maker and consumer. Through practical, hands-on activities, you'll dive into the world of fashion and learn how to design and make clothes and accessories. But that's not all – we'll do it all while being mindful of our impacts on the environment. We're incredibly fortunate to have the support of leading fashion brands, who have kindly donated their industry waste materials of the highest quality. This means you'll have the opportunity to experiment and create with materials that would have otherwise gone to waste. Throughout the term, you will become familiar with the sewing machines, essential to clothing construction. We will also explore the art of mending, altering, and thrifting, giving new life to old garments. You will learn about the life cycle of clothes and become a socially conscious influencer, making informed choices about your fashion consumption. The class will introduce you to new technologies aimed at reducing the impact of fashion on the environment. This exciting learning opportunity is perfect for students aged 8-18 who have a keen interest in fashion and a desire to unleash their creativity in a mindful way. If you're working towards completing your Duke of Edinburgh "skills" (from age 12+ yrs), this workshop is an excellent choice. You will not only gain valuable fashion skills but can also continue with us for your "volunteering" (from age 14+ yrs). Hosted by The Fashion School CIC* Sewing classes Level: Beginner Friendly FashionLab is for the students who love to be creative and have an interest in fashion! Learn about the importance of sustainability within the fashion industry and how they can still enjoy fashion in a responsible way. The students will continue to enhance their design, making and textile skills, leaving the course with a fabulous handmade garment to be proud of and that will demonstrate everything they have learnt over the term. A wonderful selection of donated deadstock designer fabrics will be available for the students to pick from to use, from designers such as Alexander McQueen, Brogger and Preen to name a few. Project Brief for Autumn 2024 Term: ​​Think of a location and an activity. It could be something from a film. Research and design an outfit that would be ideal to wear within this location whilst participating in this activity. What sort of fabrics would be appropriate? What type of silhouettes and styles make sense? What details should the garment have? How can the design reflect aspects of the environment and the activity.
