Song words are closely linked to rhythmic body movements which relieve your baby’s digestion and any stress they may be feeling. TIME TO MOVE Sensory props and stimulating visual experiences encourage Rock ‘n’ Roll babies to move their bodies and make sounds with their voices – this interaction activates the brain to release chemicals that help memory. TIME TO PLAY Baby – friendly percussion instruments release magical sounds and captivate and enthral our Rock ‘n’ Rollers! By reaching out and grasping for the sounds your baby will be stimulating their physical and emotional development. TIME TO SLEEP The more a baby is cuddled and held, the more secure and independent he will be when he gets older. Monkey’s soothing lullabies nurture a lifetime of music and are available as a digital download for you to learn and sing to your baby every day. A confident child is a musical child. Our Monkey Music Rock'n'Roll classes are suitable for Stage one from 3 months old.

Older toddlers have fun with their friends and develop a strong musical foundation for their future learning. TIME TO SING Songs for dressing up and telling simple stories! ‘Pretending’ is an important new area of learning as exploration and self expression builds self confidence. Through positive music interaction with each other, our toddlers are also learning important lessons about boundaries and how to handle frustration! TIME TO MOVE Toddlers are keen to get to know each other – bigger more exciting props such as hoops and parachute are excellent for sharing and making friends! Holding hands with partners in Monkey’s circle dances often makes the grown-ups feel very happy too! TIME TO PLAY Composing music is something that comes naturally to our Jiggety-Jiggers! Their strong musical foundation gives them super musical confidence. Props, images, music, stories and poems inspire our little monkeys as they create and perform their own special music. TIME TO SLEEP Most of our classes end with a little time for quiet reflection. Our Jiggety-Jiggers are gently reminded to practise new songs at home using some song words which may be printed from the Monkey Music Club. They may also be invited to bring something from home, to show in class the following week, as part of class topic discussions. Our Monkey Music Jiggety-Jig classes are Stage three for 2 + 3 years old.

We have also teamed up with psychologist Dr Gabby Bray DPsych, CPsychol, B.A.(Hons) (Oxon) in order to structure our termly programme to best benefit your little one. ​Informal Fun Events: 🎸 GIGS - You can chat, you can feed, you can change nappies, you can leave half way through. No judgment or protocol here - just really varied music to listen to whilst your little one takes in new genres of from gypsy jazz to soul classics. 🎷 HOUSE PARTY - Featuring Ibiza style sax player. House music for grown ups, sensory play for babies. Let their little minds run wild. 40 mins of imaginary play set to live music. Come and immerse yourselves in an interactive, magical, musical story time. Professional actors and musicians will run a 40 minute session that will get everybody's imaginations exploding. Ding-Dong children are now ready to learn to read music - this is a huge milestone and paves the way for a bright musical future! TIME TO SING Singing comes naturally to Monkey and his oldest friends. Everyone is invited to take the lead in singing games and to sing a solo ‘spot’ (not compulsory!). Familiar songs form the basis for vocal improvisation and encourage children to share story ideas. TIME TO MOVE Playing together and inventing dances is what our Ding-Dongers like to do best! Dance of the ‘Autumn Leaves’ is always a moving highlight of our Ding-Dong year! TIME TO PLAY Learning to read music is an integral element to each class. These clever monkeys use their new reading skills to compose and write their own music which they play with their friends. TIME TO LISTEN Each week the children focus on finding out more about an instrument from the orchestra. As they begin to recognise the different orchestral sounds, the children begin to express their preferences. This is excellent preparation for choosing which instrument to learn to play later on!
