8 weeks to Active Crawling For Babies who Love to Learn using their Whole Body and all their Senses.
For a fun, interactive play session that you and your baby will both enjoy come and join us at Discovery Tots.
Here, we introduce a whole range of activities and techniques to help you and your baby get more out of your play times in ways that are not only beneficial for baby’s development, but also lots of fun.
We know that babies learn with their whole body and all their senses, and each 40 minute class is filled with lots of different experiences to stimulate, delight and encourage development in a relaxed, loving and fun environment.
Even at such a young age a structured playtime, which the classes provide, helps a child to feel secure, giving the confidence to explore, learn and grow, making development more rapid and learning more fun.
It is also a great place to start building social skills, first by watching and later through interaction with the other babies.
Through the classes babies will develop and improve;
• Body awareness and gross motor skills.
• The functions of the brain through a wide range of stimulus for all the senses.
• Social awareness through the group environment.
• Communication skills through the use of sign language, songs and rhymes
The bond between the two of you. Plus you will be introduced to simple songs and activities that can be carried on at home to continue the learning and development process, and join a community of other parents and babies of a similar age.
Each class consists of a number of activities including:
Baby Yoga, Movement and Music Combining stretches, postures and movement to provide stimulation for baby’s body and mind, yoga based movement is a great way to connect and have fun together.
Nursery rhymes and simple action songs help to add to the enjoyment and further stimulate the senses. Music also helps to introduce rhythm and rhyme to your baby, an important part of speech development.
Multi Sensory Play Watch your baby’s delight as we play with a wide variety of fun objects, from ribbons to rice, lights to lemons, bubbles to beach balls and lots more, allowing your baby to use all his or her senses to explore the world.
Baby Sign Language Babies have the desire to communicate with you long before they develop the ability to speak, and learning to use sign language is one way in which they can let you know what is on their mind from just a few months old.
We will introduce a few simple signs which you and your baby can use to communicate with each other.
Wind Down Time Lullaby massage and the wonder of bubbles help you and your baby to relax as we bring the class to a close.
Each week brings something new, while including elements that are repeated, which your baby will come to recognise and respond to.
A whole world of love, laughter and learning. Come and join us at Discovery Tots for physical, social and sensory development through play.
Join the acclaimed Little Wild Theatre Company for a series of interactive children’s shows for ages 0-5 at The Questors Theatre.
Little Wild Theatre presents "Through the Elements" a five week series full of 'magical mindful moments' that takes children aged 0-5 years on an adventure through the elements of nature.
Each week, Little Wild Theatre's interactive shows will explore the elements of Earth, Air, Water and Light with a final celebratory session where the children get to reconnect with their favourite characters from across the series.
Every session will be grounded in a core theme of mindfulness for children including themes of connection, growth, friendship and confidence.
It will also provide at least two accessible and fun, mindful moments for parents to implement with the children at home and in everyday life.
All of the sessions are fully interactive and embedded with original live music and songs, movement, storytelling and puppets made entirely from natural and found objects.
Little Wild Theatre pride themselves on sensory storytelling, so even the smallest of children benefit from dedicated 1-1 sensory interaction time across the show.
Children will meet our beloved characters including Dee Dee the Dragon, Claud the Cloud, ROOTZ the tree, Shelly the seashell and plenty more.
These characters are made entirely from natural and found objects including egg cartons, old pillows, sticks, conkers, mixing bowls, shells and more, making them accessible and sustainable for adults to make at home with their children!
Each show uses the power of nature to create magical mindful moments to support children's wellbeing.
Through the Elements is a safe space for carers and children to explore with baby/carer bonding activities embedded throughout.
You are guaranteed to leave each week with buckets full of love, mindful moments to practice at home with your little ones, and most importantly, memories to last a lifetime.
