Let their little minds run wild. 40 mins of imaginary play set to live music. Come and immerse yourselves in an interactive, magical, musical story time. Professional actors and musicians will run a 40 minute session that will get everybody's imaginations exploding. WHAT TO EXPECT • Some of your all time favourite stories come to life as read and accompanied by our professional actor and musician • Musical games and play acting • Lots of movement and activity • Parent and group participation as well as encouraged group play for your little ones • Laughter and silliness from start to finish SUITABLE FOR TODDLERS AND PRESCHOOLERS The dynamic and structure of this class is aimed at children aged 2-5 years. However, younger siblings are welcome to join in the fun. Whilst they may not be able to participate in all the activities, younger ones will certainly be fascinated by the animation and energy of this session. About MiniJam: Semi Formal Classes Fun and modern early-years education through music. MiniJam is as much about the coffees and natter before/after class as it is about the interactive music and sensory experience for the babies and children. We have pooled some of London’s top session musicians to create funky versions of nursery rhymes to jam along to. We have also teamed up with psychologist Dr Gabby Bray DPsych, CPsychol, B.A.(Hons) (Oxon) in order to structure our termly programme to best benefit your little one. ​Informal Fun Events: 🎸 GIGS - You can chat, you can feed, you can change nappies, you can leave half way through. No judgment or protocol here - just really varied music to listen to whilst your little one takes in new genres of from gypsy jazz to soul classics. 🎷 HOUSE PARTY - Featuring Ibiza style sax player. House music for grown ups, sensory play for babies. Join Little Supernovas for a retelling of the traditional story of The Rat & The Zodiac for the Chinese New Year. It is the Emperor's birthday and he wishes to know how to tell the time and so he declares a race with animals from across the country. Who shall win the race and have a year named after them? Our Storytimes incorporate British Sign Language (BSL) by our Storyteller with a British Sign Language (BSL) Level 1 Qualification. About the venue: One of the oldest surviving theatres designed by iconic architect Frank Matcham, Richmond Theatre has sat in the heart of the local community since 1899. The beautiful Grade II-listed venue presents a wide range of quality shows, from pre- and post-West End Drama to record-breaking musicals, opera, dance and family entertainment. The theatre is also a popular filming location, having been used for film and TV including Finding Neverland, Bugsy Malone, Killing Eve and Ted Lasso.

The Family Station, located on the Upper Ground Floor, includes creative resources full of ideas to explore, make and play in the Library. Start your family adventure here, then go off to discover our building and learn all about the Library. What is the Family Station? • It is completely drop-in, so arrive anytime between 11.00 and 15.00 and stay for as long as you like. You’re welcome to arrive, leave, and come back whenever suits you best. • While our Learning Assistants will be onsite, Family Station is completely family-led and informal. Meaning you can play, read and explore as a family, and help yourself to our various creative resources. • There will be fun sensory items out to play with, a pop-up reading corner with braille and tactile editions and art materials to experiment, draw and build • You can also borrow specially designed trails to explore the wider Library through your senses and enjoy playful interactions with our building and collection • The Family Station is fully accessible and suitable for children with SEND Family Station: Explore and Play, is open on the last Sunday* of every month, every day for one week during select school holidays and on special dates to coincide with Library-wide events.
