We offer a chance for 3 to 5 year olds to develop confidence, self expression and concentration by using Drama, Singing, Dancing and Art. Plus, you get to enjoy watching your child in regular live performances!
With our famous Play & Learn classes, we were winners of the Most Loved Sport or Physical Activity Classes at the What’s On 4 Kids Awards 2022!
In addition we offer sensory, signing, music, art, LEGO and pre-school school preparation classes.
Gymboree Play & Music classes operate as a membership scheme.
Members pay a regular monthly fee which includes a space in an appropriate class every week, plus access to Open Gym sessions, and much more.
Gymboree Play & Music classes are uniquely and intentionally designed for early childhood development.
Through play, your child is challenged physically, socially and cognitively, building crucial skills to support a lifetime of learning.
Our expert play leaders support you through 45 minutes of uninterrupted time to play, explore, and learn.
Our custom designed curriculum challenges your child as they grow, with changing playscapes and themes every two weeks.

The Family Station, located on the Upper Ground Floor, includes creative resources full of ideas to explore, make and play in the Library.
Start your family adventure here, then go off to discover our building and learn all about the Library.
What is the Family Station?
• It is completely drop-in, so arrive anytime between 11.00 and 15.00 and stay for as long as you like. You’re welcome to arrive, leave, and come back whenever suits you best.
• While our Learning Assistants will be onsite, Family Station is completely family-led and informal. Meaning you can play, read and explore as a family, and help yourself to our various creative resources.
• There will be fun sensory items out to play with, a pop-up reading corner with braille and tactile editions and art materials to experiment, draw and build
• You can also borrow specially designed trails to explore the wider Library through your senses and enjoy playful interactions with our building and collection
• The Family Station is fully accessible and suitable for children with SEND
Family Station: Explore and Play, is open on the last Sunday* of every month, every day for one week during select school holidays and on special dates to coincide with Library-wide events.

Join our volunteer team on Saturday afternoons for family craft activities inspired by the Museum’s collections.
Learn about some of the 350,000 objects in the Horniman’s collections, and discover more about music, nature, wildlife, and the world around us.
Get stuck into some crafts and have fun with our wonderful volunteers at these free, drop-in sessions.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
12 October - Celebrate Black History Month by making hanging clouds to write your dreams on – inspired by Martin Luther King Jr.
19 and 26 October - It’s getting spooky at the Horniman! This Halloween we are making bat baskets. Come and join the fun!
2 November - Join us to celebrate Diwali by making paper lanterns.
9 and 16 November - This autumn we will be learning about and making little hedgehogs!
23 November - Celebrate National Tree week by creating autumn leaf people!
30 November - Celebrate National tree week by making ink blown tree paintings!
7 and 14 Dec - This winter we are making and decorating wintery ornaments for you to hang in your home.
