Rugby teaches the fundamentals of any sport so it's a fantastic place to start.
Our Scrummers classes are suitable for children aged 5-8 years old.
In this group, we step up the intensity, complexity and speed! The games mix traditional rugby drills with really fun games, so the enjoyment level is high plus they're gaining the skills and coordination for tag rugby.
Rugbytots enables boys and girls to discover a new world of sporting imagination.
Your little Rugbytot will be part of a dynamic 45-minute sports play session packed with fun activities that will develop their social and physical skills in a positive environment.
You child will learn about finding space, looking after the ball, scoring tries and running with the ball in two hands.
This class will also help improve their general agility and balancing skills.
We always use kit and equipment suited to the ages of children taking part in our activities.
For example, in this class we use colourful size-2 rugby balls that are specially designed for small hands and feet.
Our active classes for 3½ to 5-year-olds do not require full parent participation, but cheering and encouragement is essential!

ANTS (Walking - 3 years) Step, Toddle & Throw!
ANTS sessions provide the perfect start to your child’s sporting journey.
As confident walkers this class aims to develop their co-ordination, balance and agility as well as language and social skills.
RUGGERBUGS understands the importance of learning through repetition, so the format and structure of activities have been specially developed to build your child’s learning processes and self-esteem.
Parent Participation is a MUST in this class to assist not only in taking part but also with the development of your child’s communication and listening skills.
This class is also a great opportunity for some valuable parent – child bonding time.

Our Rascals class is suitable for children aged 2-3.5yrs old.
Our highly imaginative games are designed to build their overall enjoyment of sport, whilst focussing on basic motor skills, hand-eye and foot-eye coordination and the ability to follow instructions!
We ensure that every child is entertained and engaged the entire time.
Kids rugby teaches multiple sports skills and also all the wonderful, wholesome principles like teamwork, respect, discipline and a bit of healthy competition!
Our Scoundrels sessions are suitable for children aged 3.5-5 years old.
These sessions are packed with fun games that work on multi-tasking skills and confidence building to challenge them physically and mentally. We also bring in the concept of working together as a team.
LADYBIRDS (3 Years - School Age) Run, Jump, Catch and Throw!
LADYBIRDS sessions continue to develop your child’s balance and agility with more structured and rugby inspired running, jumping, catching, and throwing games.
The focus is on co-ordination, your child will learn to move different body parts, move in different ways and becomes more spatially aware.
Parent participation is a MUST to continue assisting with your child’s understanding and participation and provides for some valuable parent-child bonding time.
Important “skills4life” continue to be introduced so your child’s can practice and build confidence in their communication and listening skills.
Learning elements focusing on colours and numbers are also introduced.
The session also allows for your child to play and interact with other children in close proximity which helps to develop an understanding of sharing and taking turns.
Trained coaches are on hand to explain, encourage and support with the activities.
At the end of each session your Child will receive a weekly Sidney Sticker to collect and stick on their Sidney Sticker Chart.
As your child progress through the RUGGERBUGS “Head Start” Programme they will achieve “SIDNEY SKILL AWARDS” in line with the programme structure and criteria.
These will be assessed and monitored at the end of each term and allow a smooth transition into the next class when your child is ready.

A combined age class covering the motor skill development of the LADYBIRDS / BEETLES classes.
During the session the trained coaches will follow the RUGGERBUGS programme ensuring that your child participates in age-appropriate activities.
This normally involves dividing the children into appropriate-age groups.
Your Child will now be developing “buckets” of confidence and self-esteem and will be autonomous in completing the rugby inspired activities on their own or as part of a group with the support and guidance of trained coaches.
Children 3 years to school age basic motor skills are now enhanced with more challenging rugby inspired skills, drills, and games and your child is given will continue to further develop their “skills4life” communication and listening skills when completing the activities based around balance, agility and co-ordination, speed, and strength.
For Year R children basic motor skills are now enhanced with more demanding rugby inspired skills, drills and games sequences further developing your / a child’s co-ordination, body awareness, controlled movement, and spatial awareness.
The basics of Tag Rugby and core values of rugby are now gently introduced with the emphasis of FUN still very much at the heart of the session.
As your child progress through the RUGGERBUGS “Head Start” Programme they will achieve “SIDNEY SKILL AWARDS” in line with the programme structure and criteria.
These will be assessed and monitored at the end of each term and allow a smooth transition into the next class when your child is ready.
For Year 1 children the focus is very much on FUN with more exacting skills, drills, and games to benefit the maturing child and gain more understanding of the basic concepts of rugby bringing together all the elements of the programme and their learning before they GRADUATE.
Children coming to the end of school Year 1 will GRADUATE at end of July (final session) with a ceremony celebrating their achievements.
