Catchy sounds and up beat tunes for making Monkey Music! TIME TO SING Music and language have many things in common and Monkey’s action songs have been especially written to support your child's early language development. Colourful props aid visual memory while repeated actions reinforce a feel for the ‘steady beat’. TIME TO MOVE Moving and dancing freely around the room with Monkey encourages your child to express the music that they hear with their whole bodies. Exercising to music forms and strengthens neural bridges that are necessary for later learning. TIME TO PLAY The Monkey Music Band offers your child the opportunity to practise fine motor skills using hand held percussion instruments. Band members need a certain amount of self awareness and self discipline which comes with regular band practice! TIME TO SLEEP Toddlers need active time for exercise and quieter times for calmer activities. Listening is a critical life skill which we nurture with relaxing and soothing music to conclude each Monkey Music class experience. Our Monkey Music Heigh-Ho classes are stage two for toddlers from 12 months.

A class for children aged 4 years and up or by invitation, this class is recommended for children who have completed a minimum 3 terms of our Preschool class. Designed as the perfect preulde to learning a musical instrument, children read rhythmic notation and recognise intervals. All classes are taught by classically trained singers and alternative between violin, cello, viola and piano accompaniment, with special guests from the orchestra. Children must be a minimum of 4 years by the first day of term or have been invited to join the class. We ask that all accompanying adults remain participate with their child through out the class. All siblings attending are required to be booked in, the number of adults accompanying should not exceed the number of children booked and we ask that you please don't bring any extra guests. We do not allow mobile phones in any class.

TIME TO MOVE Sensory props and stimulating visual experiences encourage Rock ‘n’ Roll babies to move their bodies and make sounds with their voices – this interaction activates the brain to release chemicals that help memory. TIME TO PLAY Baby – friendly percussion instruments release magical sounds and captivate and enthral our Rock ‘n’ Rollers! By reaching out and grasping for the sounds your baby will be stimulating their physical and emotional development. TIME TO SLEEP The more a baby is cuddled and held, the more secure and independent he will be when he gets older. Monkey’s soothing lullabies nurture a lifetime of music and are available as a digital download for you to learn and sing to your baby every day. A confident child is a musical child. Our Monkey Music Rock'n'Roll classes are suitable for Stage one from 3 months old.

Our baby classes are a sensory musical experience, and we stimulate the babies through sound, touch, movement and colour as they sit, crawl, toddle and explore the space. Throughout our baby sessions we focus on the importance of touch and interaction between you and your baby as this connection is a vital part of babies emotional, physical and intellectual development. There is an emphasis on tickling, giggling, singing, making your baby laugh, bonding and lifting the little ones up in the air in time to the music! We look for their eyes widening, their lovely chubby legs kicking with excitement and their eyes following the sounds of the instruments. An experience not to be missed and a fantastic start to your Boppin’ Bunnies journey with us! Per term = £8/class | Per half term = £9/class | 1st time taster = £8 & Drop-in = £10 both subject to availability. These Boppin' Bunnies classes are suitable for children aged 0-2 yrs.

Older toddlers have fun with their friends and develop a strong musical foundation for their future learning. TIME TO SING Songs for dressing up and telling simple stories! ‘Pretending’ is an important new area of learning as exploration and self expression builds self confidence. Through positive music interaction with each other, our toddlers are also learning important lessons about boundaries and how to handle frustration! TIME TO MOVE Toddlers are keen to get to know each other – bigger more exciting props such as hoops and parachute are excellent for sharing and making friends! Holding hands with partners in Monkey’s circle dances often makes the grown-ups feel very happy too! TIME TO PLAY Composing music is something that comes naturally to our Jiggety-Jiggers! Their strong musical foundation gives them super musical confidence. Props, images, music, stories and poems inspire our little monkeys as they create and perform their own special music. TIME TO SLEEP Most of our classes end with a little time for quiet reflection. Our Jiggety-Jiggers are gently reminded to practise new songs at home using some song words which may be printed from the Monkey Music Club. They may also be invited to bring something from home, to show in class the following week, as part of class topic discussions. Our Monkey Music Jiggety-Jig classes are Stage three for 2 + 3 years old.

Little Piccolos music classes are designed to give little ones a fun and creative introduction to the fundamentals of music. Classes are led by trained musicians and use the Kodaly approach to make music accessible. Each 30-minute class is filled with singing original and traditional songs that aim to introduce young children to the beat, rhythm, pitch and dynamic.

At Teddy's Playhouse, we never lose sight of the fact that every language is a musical pattern and where better to start than with music and song on your little one's early learning journey. There is absolutely nothing else that compares to our classes, we are not just a music class, we are a playhouse! A soft themed stage enables learning through exploration, live music, song and movement. Our classes are supported by shrieks of excitement, lots of smiles and bouncing feet. As mums ourselves we take early learning seriously and it's such a very short time that our little ones are babies and toddlers that we want to give them as much magic as possible. These classes are suitable for babies and toddlers aged 7 months - 2yrs 6months.

Ding-Dong children are now ready to learn to read music - this is a huge milestone and paves the way for a bright musical future! TIME TO SING Singing comes naturally to Monkey and his oldest friends. Everyone is invited to take the lead in singing games and to sing a solo ‘spot’ (not compulsory!). Familiar songs form the basis for vocal improvisation and encourage children to share story ideas. TIME TO MOVE Playing together and inventing dances is what our Ding-Dongers like to do best! Dance of the ‘Autumn Leaves’ is always a moving highlight of our Ding-Dong year! TIME TO PLAY Learning to read music is an integral element to each class. These clever monkeys use their new reading skills to compose and write their own music which they play with their friends. TIME TO LISTEN Each week the children focus on finding out more about an instrument from the orchestra. As they begin to recognise the different orchestral sounds, the children begin to express their preferences. This is excellent preparation for choosing which instrument to learn to play later on! Our Ding-Dong classes are suitable for Stage four for 3 + 4 year olds.
