Join us for an exciting art camp this January! Our camp is specially designed for kids aged 7 to 14 who love to unleash their creativity and explore the world of art. In this fun workshop we’ll be referencing the book 'Monkey Puzzle' by local artist and author Axel Schiffer. We will make some hanging monkeys and babies to hang from them and we'll decorate them individually. Where will you put your monkey?

Insects are very important to the planet! We need to protect them – let’s make our own insects to add some more to the world! We will make some minibeasts using collage and painting, and create some foliage for them to hide in… which bugs will you bring to life?

Leopards, Sumatran Tigers, and Lynx are all endangered species of big cat. We will look at the different patterning of these big cats and how their coats help them to be camouflaged in their environment. How many patterns can you find in the spots and stripes?

In this workshop we will be taking inspiration from the children’s novel by Michael Morpurgo. This wonderful story follows 11 year old Michael - shipwrecked, alone in the Pacific Ocean, he is washed ashore onto a deserted island, but is it really deserted? Exploring themes of survival, nature and unlikely friendships - and using artistic techniques such as dip pen and ink, wax resist, paper aging and collage - we’ll create a pictorial journal of our time in Kensuke’s Kingdom. During this workshop we will read some of the book itself as well as explore our artistic depictions of it.

Orangutans live in rainforests in Borneo and Sumatra, full of tall lush green trees and plants. They love eating fruits like mangoes and figs, as well as nuts, leaves, and small insects! In this fun all-day art class you will create a beautiful rainforest collage inspired by world-famous artists, make a habitat diorama that is perfect for an orangutan, along with so much more. You’ll even design and paint a Save The Orangutan poster and tote bag - sadly these magnificent great apes are at risk of extinction due to deforestation, which destroys their forest home and food. Come along and join us for a day of creativity and fun to celebrate these wonderful creatures!

The rainforests are under threat, and where will the animals live? We’ll make beautiful rainforest scenes together using all kinds of art mediums, making sure that all of the different animals have somewhere glorious and green to go. Which animals will be hiding in your rainforest picture?

It’s time to Partayyy! Halloween style with lots of drawing, painting and making! Saturday Night Fever for Zombies! We make a huge glittery disco ball. A spooky Zombie with head & shoulders to scare your friends... create a clay shrunken head medallion on a beaded necklace. We make some cute bat masks, learn how to draw scary Halloween stuff, in our sketchbooks. Lots of blood curdling fun! Plus, pumpkin magnets too!
