A buzzing mix of creative activities including drama, dance & movement, crafts, outdoor play and games for all 5-11 year olds to enjoy. Each week culminates with a presentation for parents and family that showcases everything we've accomplished over the week of camp. We don’t use formal scripts; instead, we create our own stories, which encourages children to use their initiative, listen to and share ideas, and create their own piece of theatre. During the school holidays, this is a perfect way to keep your children occupied, excited, and engaged! Run in collaboration with Creative Mash UK Ltd and our friends and experienced youth programme facilitators Laura Curnick and Dana Hillier. END OF THE WEEK PERFORMANCE The performance will be on the last day of the workshop at 3pm; family and friends are very welcome to attend. The performance is usually 20-30 minutes long. USUAL STRUCTURE OF OUR DAY 9am-10am Sign in & Early drop in activities: Free play, Board games, Crafts 10-10:45am Introduction to the day, meeting Teachers & Warm Up Drama Activities 10:45-11:15am Snack, play & water break 11:15-12:00pm Drama and movement session, games and activities 12-00-12:45pm Drama and movement session, games and activities 12:45-2pm Lunch break - Free play in the park or playground (dependent on weather) 2-3pm Crafts - Structured activity of painting, drawing, creating props/set 3-3:30pm Cool Down Time - Relaxing/Yoga, Singing, Stories 3:30-4pm Tidy up time and getting ready for pick up LAST DAY: Performance for Parents at 3pm, pick up straight after Creative Arts Kids is a performing arts education company, run by a collective of professional artists experienced in creating workshops in performing arts and fine arts. We are offering weekly dance and drama classes, as well as holiday activities for children and young people. We believe that everybody should have a creative outlet, especially children, and we place a strong emphasis on the enjoyment of arts, and on the creative process, not the final result. Children are encouraged to choreograph dances, improvise, devise, direct, write, perform, create props, set design and to make costumes. Kids are immersed in the creative journey from the get go, and are an integral part in creating their own show to perform. We believe this builds confidence and communication skills, allows children to express themselves freely in a safe, fun environment whilst building friendships. Both our termly dance classes and our holiday workshops have an element of technique and discipline, but are not rigid and allow children to have independence in their creative journey.

Inspired by all the animals of Polka’s Half Term shows, make your own mask with paints, colouring pens or glitter! Once your mask is made, it’s time to learn some new mime techniques by using your body to tell your own story.

Children will learn about comics and cartoon history and how they have been used as tools for storytelling and communication over the years. 1. INTRODUCTION: Overview of comics and cartoon history and how they been used as tools for storytelling and communication over the years. 2. BASIC ANATOMY: Showing how the human body works and is designed to move. 3. CHARACTER DESIGN: How to work up designs for different types of characters and how they fit into the stories you want to tell. 4. STORYTELLING: Overview of comics storytelling, layout and structure. 5. SCRIPTING & LETTERING: A look at the basics of comics scriptwriting and how to produce clear lettering by hand for comics. 6. COLOURING: An exploration of different colouring techniques (including, if possible, computer colouring). 7. COMIC STRIP: Using the skills gathered so far, students will work on their own comic stories. 8. COMPLETE FINISHED COMIC: By the end of the course each student will produce their own complete 8 - 12 page comic strip. This Comic camp is suitable for children ages 7-14 years old.

At the pottery clay camp, children will embark on a hands-on adventure into the world of ceramics. With their fingers immersed in cool, pliable clay, they will learn the ancient art of pottery-making. Guided by skilled instructors, young minds will discover the magic of shaping clay into functional and artistic objects. From pinch pots to coil creations, they will explore various techniques, honing their motor skills and unleashing their imagination.

Chickenshed’s Tales from the Shed team, in collaboration with children’s author Keilly Swift, presents a brand new telling of the book Encyclopaedia of Happiness. Get ready to explore the things that bring us the most joy in the world! Through a variety of storytelling styles, we’ll engage both young and old audiences alike, inviting everyone to paint their words in vibrant colours, whilst celebrating a warm embrace of positivity. Get ready to smile with every turn of the page! Age Restriction Encyclopaedia of Happiness is for children from 0-6 years only. With the exception of older siblings, no children over the age of 6 will be admitted. Pricing You will need to purchase a ticket for everyone from the age of 6 months. If you are bringing a child under 6 months they are free of charge and you do not need to get them a ticket. Seating Seating is a mixture of fixed seating and mats on the floor so that children and performers can freely move around the space. What is Tales from the Shed? Tales from the Shed are vibrant, inclusive theatre shows that are perfect for young children. They are informal, lively and amazingly engaging as the performers and audience share the same space.

Calling all budding fashion illustrators. This workshop will teach new techniques and skills to illustrate confidently from collage and your own designs. You will get to experiment with lots of different mediums including collage, fine line, ink, pro marker, pencil, crayon and oil pastel. You will also get the opportunity to create your own designs by draping with our fabulous fabrics on a mannequin. You will leave with a stitchbound book of all your fantastic illustrations. This short course is perfect for beginners and for those who have been to us before.

Have you ever imagined your own comic book character, superhero or villain? Join us in our masterclass on comic book art and writing where you will get the opportunity to work with a professional creative! We will cover learning how to draft your ideas on paper, drawing and writing your characters and their scenes in a comic book strip style, then sharing your own comic book scenarios among friends at the end of the day.

Activities are led by professional actors with a love for the early years! Each day the children will explore different genres of the creative arts - learning songs and dances, acting and role-play adventures, exploring arts and crafts plus lots of games and fun. Perfect for 3-6 year olds.
