CATERPILLARA / ANTS sessions (Walking to 3.5yrs) are the perfect start to your child’s sporting journey. As confident walkers they will develop the basic motor skills of balance, agility, and co-ordination with confidence with a rugby theme using colourful play equipment. The focus is on introducing your child to play and beginning to develop and enhance their fine and gross motor skills which are so important for their early year’s development. Parent participation is a MUST to assist with your child’s understanding and participation and provide for some valuable parent-child bonding time. RUGGERBUGS understands the importance of learning through repetition, so the activities and equipment have been specifically designed to support this learning process and build self-esteem. Important “skills4life” are very gently introduced to begin developing your / a child’s language, communication, listening skills and building self-esteem. The session also allows for your child to start interacting with other children of the same age. Trained coaches are on hand to explain, encourage and support with the activities. At the end of each session your Child will receive a weekly Sidney Sticker to collect and stick on their Sidney Sticker Chart. As your child progress through the RUGGERBUGS “Head Start” Programme they will achieve “SIDNEY SKILL AWARDS” in line with the programme structure and criteria. These will be assessed and monitored at the end of each term and allow a smooth transition into the next class when your child is ready.

Beetles (Year Reception & Year 1 Children) Run, Clap, Catch and Score! BEETLES sessions will see your child developing “buckets” of confidence and self-esteem and will be autonomous in completing the rugby inspired activities on their own or as part of a group with the support and guidance of trained coaches. Parents can now take a well-earned rest on the side-lines but always on hand to provide a bit of support and encouragement when needed. Basic motor skills are now enhanced with more demanding rugby inspired skills, drills and games sequences further developing your child’s co-ordination, body awareness, controlled movement, and spatial awareness. The focus is on applying what your child has learnt to perform activities through planning and evaluation of their actions to understand and improve their performance. The basics of Tag Rugby and core values of rugby are now gently introduced with the emphasis of FUN still very much at the heart of the session. At the end of each session your Child will receive a weekly Sidney Sticker to collect and stick on their Sidney Sticker Chart. Mega Kickers is the culmination of the preceding age groups. It brings together all the skills learnt and introduces them into real football matches. Children continue to develop the social and cognitive skills as well as honing their football skills, putting them to use at the end of each session during the 20-minute match. There is a focus on fair play, as well as a focus on knowledge, understanding and practical application of the rules of play. KEY FEATURES - Children play independently of their parent/guardian - 50-minute class - Weekly classes - Two coaches for up to 18 children (max) - Each new starter receives a football kit - 8 unique badges to collect across the Mega Kickers programme More touches on the ball lead to faster and greater skill gain. Every child has their own ball throughout the session and our games are specifically designed for maximum touches of the ball. The games are progressively challenging enabling new skills to be learnt each lesson, however children are able to work within their ability. Children become more competitive at this age and are taught to challenge themselves and one another. The match becomes the climax of the session and is the perfect outlet for channelling children’s competitive energy as well as transferring their skills into a real world situation. Mega Kickers teaches the fundamentals of football in a fun learning environment through a series of games using our tried and tested structure. Our Mega Kickers receive quarterly badges which highlight the key physical, cognitive and football skills they are exposed to in our programme. Our Little Kickers absolutely love showing their badges to their teammates and family!

Little Kicks is the perfect introduction to the fun world of Little Kickers and is suitable for children aged 1.5yrs - 2.5yrs old. Children are introduced to the basics of football, dribbling, striking, goal scoring etc in a play-oriented yet structured format, using child-friendly but realistic football equipment. Each child is given the opportunity to work within their ability level but taught in a group environment. Classes also provide a fantastic opportunity for you to assist in your child’s early education, helping them develop physically as well as improving cognitive and social skills. Classes run on a rolling monthly billing cycle (*plus a one-off registration fee which includes your child’s shirt and shorts).

Signing Toddlers explores new vocabulary through signing, turn-taking, sharing and listening. As your child begins to develop speech and discover new words, Signing Toddlers explores and focuses on new key vocabulary to encourage their budding communication skills. Learn new signs to increase your child’s word bank as their world grows around them.

Team KEEpers Girls sessions are for children who play in goal for a grassroots club or school team. At Team KEEpers Girls we aim to promote and practice goalkeeping in a technically correct fashion. This session is coached using 7 a side goals which is what teams play in if they play in the Camden & Islington Youth League at Market Road. Our weekly sessions term time will be for 1hr 30mins. Coaches are FA Qualified, DBS checked and First Aid trained.

Our Mighty Kickers classes are suitable for children aged 3.5yrs - 5yrs old. Mighty Kickers are confident with boundless energy and this is catered for in the lesson plans. Our games are fast-paced and increasingly football-focused, with fun still at the heart, meaning that even new starters easily pick them up. Children begin to understand the importance of team play and matches are gradually introduced. Classes are £46.80 per month and run on a rolling monthly billing cycle (*plus a one-off registration fee which includes your child’s shirt and shorts of £25.00).

Our Scoundrels sessions are suitable for children aged 3.5-5 years old. These sessions are packed with fun games that work on multi-tasking skills and confidence building to challenge them physically and mentally. We also bring in the concept of working together as a team.
