This art course is designed to support secondary school students through teaching them drawing skills as well as acrylics, watercolours, clay, mixed media, perspective and portraiture work. In preparation for GCSE, we think it’s really important to provide a strong basis for all techniques which they can use to develop their projects and make them stand out. We can work alongside their coursework, building confidence ability with every step.

The art course is designed to explore both the 2D and 3D to ensure that a wide range of mediums and techniques are covered. Primary School students will begin with a clay tile project, exploring 3D modelling, perspective and design. For Secondary School students, the first project will work with acrylics on canvas and will focus on a specific artist. Following this, all ages will cover watercolours, inks, pastels, oil pastels, clay, papier mâché, metal tooling and much more in age-appropriate projects. Before the project we do a starter every week; this will work on core visual skills such as visual memory, fine motor control, visual perception and spatial awareness as well as introducing new mediums and techniques, which will develop colour theory and tonal values.

Sculpt with a giant block of clay, design a family tree, paint a mural or make a creation of your very own. All children benefit from a space to be creative. Children are eager to explore different mediums, textures, and ways to express themselves. This Family Art class is suitable for children aged 18 months - 5 years old. These classes must be booked as part of a membership.
