DEVELOPING SKILLS
Each day of camp will focus on a different area of the game including passing, receiving, dribbling, defending, shooting and volleying. We also offer a Futsal day and a Goalkeeping camp.
CELEBRATING PROGRESS
Medals and trophies are awarded for a variety of successes on the last day of camp so all players feel a real sense of achievement.

Children will learn about comics and cartoon history and how they have been used as tools for storytelling and communication over the years.
1. INTRODUCTION:
Overview of comics and cartoon history and how they been used as tools for storytelling and communication over the years.
2. BASIC ANATOMY:
Showing how the human body works and is designed to move.
3. CHARACTER DESIGN:
How to work up designs for different types of characters and how they fit into the stories you want to tell.
4. STORYTELLING:
Overview of comics storytelling, layout and structure.
5. SCRIPTING & LETTERING:
A look at the basics of comics scriptwriting and how to produce clear lettering by hand for comics.
6. COLOURING:
An exploration of different colouring techniques (including, if possible, computer colouring).
7. COMIC STRIP:
Using the skills gathered so far, students will work on their own comic stories.
8. COMPLETE FINISHED COMIC:
By the end of the course each student will produce their own complete 8 - 12 page comic strip.
This Comic camp is suitable for children ages 7-14 years old.

Inspired by How to Catch a Star and along with Polka’s expert drama and science practitioners, you will not only be able to make a space rocket, you will understand how rockets work and see them shoot off into our sensory space sky up into the magical starry atmosphere.

Inspired by all the animals of Polka’s Half Term shows, make your own mask with paints, colouring pens or glitter!
Once your mask is made, it’s time to learn some new mime techniques by using your body to tell your own story.

Age Restriction
Encyclopaedia of Happiness is for children from 0-6 years only. With the exception of older siblings, no children over the age of 6 will be admitted.
Pricing
You will need to purchase a ticket for everyone from the age of 6 months. If you are bringing a child under 6 months they are free of charge and you do not need to get them a ticket.
Seating
Seating is a mixture of fixed seating and mats on the floor so that children and performers can freely move around the space.

Tales from the Shed are vibrant, inclusive theatre shows that are perfect for young children. They are informal, lively and amazingly engaging as the performers and audience share the same space.

Calling all budding fashion illustrators.
This workshop will teach new techniques and skills to illustrate confidently from collage and your own designs.
You will get to experiment with lots of different mediums including collage, fine line, ink, pro marker, pencil, crayon and oil pastel. You will also get the opportunity to create your own designs by draping with our fabulous fabrics on a mannequin.
You will leave with a stitchbound book of all your fantastic illustrations.
