Celebrate the start of summer with a visit to Chelsea in Bloom, Chelsea’s prestigious annual floral art show and London’s largest free-to-attend festival of flowers. What is Chelsea in Bloom? The world class alternative floral art show is back for its 20th anniversary, transforming the streets of Chelsea from 19-25 May, with breathtaking displays made of fresh flowers. Produced by Cadogan, in association with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), the annual competition continues to grow year on year, with Chelsea’s best retailers, restaurants and hotels adorning themselves with creative designs, competing for the coveted awards. What is this years theme? 2025’s theme is ‘Flowers in Fashion’, celebrating Chelsea’s place at the heart of many iconic fashion movements and it being one of the world’s most stylish destinations. ‘Flowers in Fashion’ will see the neighbourhood transformed into London’s most elegant runway, with inspiration taken from its fashion legacy, style icons, muses and more. How are the winners chosen? The competition will see participants showcasing floral displays, each reflecting their own unique interpretation of the theme. The displays will be judged by an expert panel, with the winners announced on Tuesday, 20 May. The People’s Champion Award will be chosen by open voting via this website – voting will close at midnight on Thursday, 22 May and the winner announced on Friday, 23 May. This year, Chelsea in Bloom has partnered with The British Fashion Council, a not-for-profit organisation championing British fashion, aiming to drive the global economy by harnessing and sharing collective expertise, while pioneering world-class programmes that nurture British talent. Visitors will have the opportunity to pledge donations when hopping on rickshaw rides or before taking part in walking tours, as well as through purchasing limited-edition event t-shirts at the information point. Many of the flowers from this year’s event will be donated to Confetti Club, a not-for-profit who repurpose used flowers to create beautiful, biodegradable dried petal confetti with all profits going to Cancer Research UK. Through recycling many of the flowers from the Central Installations, and working with this year’s participants, Confetti Club will provide a sustainable finale to the event, as well as create a stunning product that will bring joy to those ‘just married’, and raise money for a brilliant cause.
