Art Deco theatre overlooking the Surrey Hills. Big on comedy & live music, 3 cinema screens & cafe. Serving the community for more than 85 years. Designed by architect Percy W. Meredith, our striking Art Deco venue was built in 1931 to house the Leith Hill Musical Festival and host renowned composer Ralph Vaughan Williams’ staging of Bach’s St Matthew Passion. The venue was designed to host a range of community events. It comprised three Halls: the Masonic, the Martineau and the impressive Grand; all of which remain today. The Grand can seat 900 people, and its original stage could accommodate 300 singers and a full orchestra. The acoustics were exceptional and there was also a fully-sprung dance floor.

About Comedy Club 4 Kids

Since 2005, the Comedy Club 4 Kids has been getting the best stand-ups and sketch acts from the international circuit to do their thing for an audience of children and their families… but without the rude bits!

It's just like a normal comedy club, but it's on in the day, kids are allowed in, and thus there is a higher than usual chance of heckles like "why is that your face!?"

"Comedy Club 4 Kids has been a highlight for children in recent years, giving them a taste of some of the biggest names in comedy, with the fun, rowdy feel of a real comedy club. Past line-ups have included Stewart Lee, Jason Byrne, David O'Doherty and Adam Hills, and it's always interesting to see how comics adapt their material for kids, and to see those who can get a laugh without falling back on the toilet jokes. (Some do look quite lost when they realise they can't swear at hecklers.)" - The Guardian
