Half Moon is a local organisation with a national remit. Working from our base in Limehouse, East London, we give young people from birth to 18 (25 for disabled young people) an opportunity to experience the best in young people’s theatre, both as a participant and as an audience member. Our activity includes a season of professional plays for young and family audiences, including teenagers, national touring productions and an extensive creative learning programme, including eight youth theatres. Half Moon’s expertise is in supporting artists and young people at every stage of their creative development, providing a gateway to engagement, offering pathways for progression and experimentation and then disseminating outcomes within the wider cultural sector, through performances, touring productions, open dialogue and continuing professional development. Half Moon is a National Portfolio Organisation of Arts Council England and receives regular funding from the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, as well as many other supporters.

About Festival 14: Family Fun - Claytime

Half Moon are proud to be part of Festival 14: Family Fun at Crossrail Place Roof Garden on Saturday 29 July 2023.

Taking place across parks, plazas and open spaces, Festival 14 will see Canary Wharf burst to life with over 50 performances and events to suit all tastes.

Give your family a unique, interactive and engaging play with clay, where the audience are invited to participate, with special performances of Claytime, interspersed with post-performance workshops by Half Moon.

CLAYTIME

A play with clay, where the audience are invited to participate. Come to a place where the earth’s natural material meets with children’s imaginations: a world of fabulous forms, amazing animals and morphing monsters.

Each Claytime is totally unique – creating its own world, its own characters and its own stories drawn directly from its young audience. Truly, interactive theatre at its most engaging.

The piece culminates with a short on-stage workshop where the children have their own opportunity for some hands-on clay time. You may therefore want your children to be wearing clothing suitable for getting a bit messy.
