About A Christmas Carol

A Christmas Carol at the Elgar Room is A Christmas Carol as Dickens himself performed it: a dramatic rendering of the great novella in which one actor brings to life the entire story, with its vast array of colourful characters, in one extraordinary evening of words and music.

Told as if the audience were at the fireside with the author, this production recreates for a modern audience Dickens’s own famous and celebrated performance of his evergreen Christmas tale.

Filled with carols, costumes, music, and imagination, this superb production makes the entire tale gust up in the audience’s mind like a Christmas reverie.

Performed by actor and writer Tama Matheson and accompanied by a superb ensemble of musicians from the London Mozart Players, this Christmas Carol is a faithful retelling, and scintillating rendering of the greatest Christmas story of all time. An evening of Christmas magic for the whole family.
