Helping children become active, confident and increasingly independent.

Our combined LADYBIRDS / BEETLES session allows children to enjoy the same RUGGERBUGS experience while taking part at a level that suits their age and ability.

Children run, jump, catch, throw, pass, kick and score while developing coordination, agility, confidence and body awareness.

Younger children are supported as they become more independent, while older children are encouraged to apply their developing skills within more structured activities and games.

Along the way we encourage listening, communication, decision-making, teamwork and friendships.

There is no pressure, no competition and no previous rugby experience required.

Start with our 4-week introduction for £35 and see what growing confidence can look like.

RUGGERBUGS LADYBIRDS / BEETLES

Would you love to see your child happy, active, growing in confidence and looking forward to their activity every week?

That’s what RUGGERBUGS is all about.

Established in 2007, RUGGERBUGS is a family-run children’s development programme inspired by fun, non-contact rugby, designed for little ones from confident walking through to around 6 years.

Through colourful equipment, imaginative games and age-appropriate activities, children run, jump, catch, throw, kick and score while developing important physical skills including balance, coordination, agility and body awareness.

But RUGGERBUGS is about much more than rugby.

Week by week, we gently encourage important Skills4Life including confidence, independence, listening, communication, taking turns, decision-making, friendships and teamwork.

Younger children take part alongside their grown-up. As they grow and progress through RUGGERBUGS, they are gradually encouraged to become more independent, confident and comfortable taking part as part of a group.

There is no pressure, no competition and no previous rugby experience needed. Every child develops differently, so our friendly coaches encourage children to participate at their own pace, celebrate what they can do and, most importantly, have lots of FUN.

Whether your child eventually chooses rugby, another sport or simply develops a lifelong love of being active, our aim is to give them a positive start they can carry with them.

More than rugby — it’s life skills through play.

Give your child a HEAD START with RUGGERBUGS.
