Give yourself a giggle at a fabulously fun, inclusive performance and sketch workshop from comedy duo Shelf. Relaxed Sessions are the perfect place to start the weekend, specially designed for children and families who would benefit from a sensory adapted space and a smaller group experience. On a monthly basis you can watch a performance, make something with the artists and play with other children and their families – all for free! See all access adaptations in the access section below. This month, comedy double act Shelf leads us in a side-splitting comedy workshop, complete with silly characters and the chance to be a part of the joke, followed by our monthly Ballroom Boogie. Schedule 10.30am: soft start and welcome 10.45am – 11am: performance from Shelf 11am – 11.45am: comedy workshop 11.45am – 12 noon: soft finish Shelf are an award winning comedy double act (Best Kids Show, The UK Kids Comedy Festival & Leicester Comedy Festival) who use physical comedy and silly characters to make sketch comedy fun for the whole family. Relaxed Sessions are the adapted version of Saturday Sessions: if you or your child have SEND or other needs and would benefit from a smaller group and an adapted space, please book a free ticket. On a monthly basis you can watch a performance, make something with the artists and play with other children and their families – all for free! They’ve led sketch comedy workshops for kids and their families at Great Ormond Street Hospital and festivals around the UK. Event information: Saturday Sessions are free, drop-in events with no booking required. The sessions are part of our Open Doors programme to welcome everyone into our creative spaces. We also offer Relaxed Sessions, an adapted version for families who may benefit from a more chilled out space. Laugh yourself silly at a comedy show hosted by cabaret performer, comedian and magician Ada Campe with an assortment of all-round funny people. Comedian Jay Foreman, comedian and writer Leila Navabi and internationally renowned poet, performer and educator Joshua Seigal bring devilishly cheeky songs, poems and comedy to the floor for a barrelful of laughs. More comedians to be announced! Joshua Seigal is an internationally renowned poet, performer and educator. His first book with Bloomsbury, I Don’t Like Poetry, was nominated for the Laugh Out Loud Award, an award he has subsequently won twice. He is an Official Ambassador for National Poetry Day, and has been commissioned to write and perform for the BBC. About Imagine Festival: Imagine Festival is a Relaxed festival and this event is a Relaxed Performance (RP). Relaxed Performances have a relaxed approach to noise and movement in the space, and you are free to enter and exit during the performances. A chill-out space and noise-cancelling headphones are available for both adults and children. There are no adjustments to sound and lighting for these performances and this performance contains amplified sound, moving lights and haze. The Giant Chalkboard returns to Imagine Festival – pick up a piece of chalk and get creative! Kids are invited to scribble, doodle, draw and create to their heart’s content. Age guidance: For ages 3+ Event information: Throughout the day the chalkboard may close in 30 minute intervals for cleaning. Join ZooNation: The Kate Prince Company for a fun-filled day for all the family, with workshops and performances from ZooNation Youth Company, plus a lunchtime DJ. Don’t miss a special performance from ZooNation Youth Company, featuring some of the best young hip-hop dancers in the UK. Prancer the Dancer invites you to tear up the dance floor and power the disco with collective electric dance energy at a fun-filled party. Featuring special guests, dance routines to learn together and gymnastics ribbons a plenty, join Prancer for a fab night out (but in the daytime). Prancer the Dancer was commissioned by Marlborough Productions, Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts and Fatt Projects, and is supported by Shoreditch Town Hall and Cambridge Junction.
