Do you like to make things with your hands? This is the class for you. Plants come in all crazy shapes and sizes, we will be inspired by some of the most architectural plant structures on the planet. Know your Monkey Puzzle Tree from your Bird of Paradise. We will start by exploring these shapes with our pencils before creating sculptures based on these wild and wonderful shapes. We’ll make botanical mobiles exploring a multitude of shapes and colours, press found materials from nature into clay, use our architectural plant drawings and assemble a hanging decoration. Finish by making a clay pot with plants and nature in mind, putting the learnings of the day into practice and coming away with a cute botanical inspired pot to finish painting at home. You’ll come away with a botanical mobile and/or small hand built botanical clay pot. Before the class, go on a walk in the garden, green space or beach and collect some interesting shapes on textures, this could be leaves, shells, sticks, seeds. Bring them along!
