Groove, wiggle and stick in this enchanting, interactive performance installation for ages 5+. Drop in throughout the show and get as stuck or silly as you like! The Sticky Dance is an interactive, engaging and colourful performance installation for children and their families. Three dancers' shimmy through the audience weaving a tapestry of sticky tape in this tactile dance performance for young children. They invite you to tape, stick and groove, to see and feel sound or to be still, watch and listen. Audiences are encouraged to explore freely, choosing how they engage and turning the rules upside down. The Sticky Dance is open for 2 hours for each performance. We recommend you spend approximately 45 minutes in the space, although you can choose to stay for longer or less. Please book one of the entrance slots available every 15 minutes. The first 2 slots have a lower capacity, for children who might prefer a gentler start. Late comers and re-entry is permitted, however if the space is already full, we may ask you to wait.

Punk Alley is a loud and, unapologetic punk odyssey, fun for all the family aged 5+. Join in with the Lazurr Tuts, a global guitar strumming phenomenon consisting of rebels, outsiders and misfits. An exploration of finding one’s voice and standing up for your beliefs, this show is a vibrant ode to self-empowerment.

Prepare to soar through the fluffy clouds where flocks of birds and butterflies flutter. Explore the dream-like world that waits above us, in this multi-sensory dance experience for families. Take your little ones on a magical journey with Skydiver and experience how movement, sound and stunning visuals bring whimsical characters to life in an enchanting encounter in the skies. Greek dance artist, dramaturg and director Xenia Aidonopoulou makes visually compelling dance-theatre works filled with wonder and imagination that will captivate even the youngest audience members. Skydiver is a Little Big Dance commission, led by South East Dance, in partnership with Dance East, Yorkshire Dance and Take Art. Little Big Dance is funded by Paul Hamlyn Foundation and Arts Council England. Co-commissioned by Dance Umbrella and Strike a Light Festival. Presented as part of the Orbital Touring Network in partnership with Unicorn Theatre & Team London Bridge, Stanley Arts, The Place, Studio 3 Arts and Watermans Arts Centre.

Plastic....is it friend or foe? Remarkable or rubbish? Helpful or harmful? Plastic Drastic Fantastic is a contemporary dance theatre work for children and their families. The show explores humanity's complex relationship with plastics, the fantastic possibilities they offer, as well as the drastic consequences to the environment. Drawing from the Indian classical dance form Bharatanatyam and South Asian dance techniques, the artists investigate plastics and the dangers of their misuse through intricate movement, gestures and play, infused with interaction with the audience. The processes and stories underpinning this dance project have been steered by children and young people, who are at the heart of the research for this work, created in consultation with material scientists at UCL. Designed to be accessible for D/deaf audiences, Plastic Drastic Fantastic is a vibrant, fun and thought-provoking show for our time. An Akademi and Polka Theatre co-production.

Together, they will go on an unforgettable adventure featuring a bunch of slippery zombies, strange underwater creatures and a final, all-out duel with the wicked Admiral O’Greed! In this story about identity and friendship not everything is what it seems, and the biggest treasure in the world could be right under your nose... Featuring a playful mix of dance, theatre and storytelling, Pirates! is the latest creation of Scottish Dance Theatre’s Artistic Director Joan Clevillé. Commissioned by The Place.

Taking place over one day at the seaside, Super Hot Hot Dog is a holiday adventure to remember! You will meet an extrovert ice cream seller who dances their favourite flavours. Deep underwater there is a strange world where you'll meet mysterious sea creatures and a wise Octopus. At the funfair, you will visit the hall of mirrors and go on a fantastic roller coaster ride. At the end of the show the performers whisper an important message that you can carry with you when you leave the theatre for the rest of your life. All families are welcome! We recommend neurotypical children age 4yrs-11yrs and neurodiverse audiences 4yrs+. It is funny, creative and vibrant, using dance, props and music. Devised and performed by an integrated cast that includes dancers with a learning disability. Featuring costumes and design by artist Tim Spooner and a soundtrack designed by DJ Marcy (Camille Larere), Super Hot Hot Dog will be presented as a relaxed performance for all the family.

Join Candoco Dance Company in a weekly class for disabled and non-disabled dancers. The class is for 13 to 25 year olds and all abilities are welcome. A movement and theatre workshop based on the themes of Punk Alley, a family show full of heart, combines original punk music and high energy dance to create a vibrant and fun space for children and young people to explore what they want to use their voice to fight for. In this workshop, Sarah Blanc will lead a movement warm up, followed by creative tasks looking at sections of the show. The participants will develop their ideas practically through movement and theatre making exercises, to the backdrop of punk music.

Young dancers aged between 8-18 are invited to join one of our wonderful guest teachers in a series of workshops as part of our summer dance courses. Each staff member will be drawing from their practise in either North American/European Contemporary Dance, Indian Classical Dance or Street Dance to give your young dancer the opportunity to explore a varied movement vocabulary. All age groups will have the chance to work with all our teachers and a live musician throughout the week, learning both dance technique and exploring their own creativity in our creative-focused sessions. The theme this summer will be our environment, and each group will draw from one of the elements: air, earth or water. These themes will guide their creativity throughout the week, leading to the creation of a short piece that they will share with each other and their adults at the end of the week.

There will be practical dance classes all led by our world-leading facilitators, insights into course modules, time to chat with students, Q&As with course leaders, information about our application process and Visa and IELTS guidance. The LCDS Summer School is aimed at people aged 16 years + and for those who are thinking of applying to the undergraduate course at London Contemporary Dance School.
