Join us for a week of dramatic fun and games, craft activities and playtime in a beautiful garden. Our theme this week is ‘Myths and Legends’ and our students can share their stories, devise their own scenes, or pick scenes from their favourite movies about Dragons, Unicorns… or any other Myths and Legends, to act out! On Friday at 3pm we’ll showcase our favourite moments in a Presentation for family and friends. Extras available: 8.30am Drop Off: £10/day or £45/week (5 days) 5.30pm Pick Up: £15/day or £50/week (4 days – no late pick up on Friday due to Presentation) HOLIDAY WORKSHOPS The Playing Space holiday workshops are hugely popular with children and parents alike. Parents tell us that their children have been talking non-stop about drama and begging to come to the next half-term or holiday course. "I would recommend this club to anyone and cannot wait for my son to go again. The difference it made to his confidence in just a week was fantastic." Our drama games, exercises and activities are designed to encourage teamwork and co-operation. Children in our holiday groups, who often come from different schools and backgrounds, soon form strong bonds. They love working, playing and eating together! By the end of the course there is a real sense of exhilaration and camaraderie as the children make preparations for the final show and get ready to share their work with Mum, Dad, baby brother, and whoever else has come along. "Chad is a shy boy, so I was delighted to see him coming out of the club very animated and enthused." Holiday workshops culminate in an informal performance for parents on the final day. All workshops incorporate morning and afternoon breaks, as well as a lunch break. Children should bring a packed lunch. Water and fruit are provided through the day. We ask students to wear loose, comfortable clothing and shoes that they can easily put on and take off. If wearing skirts/dresses then please wear leggings or shorts underneath. Join us for a brilliant week of drama games and improvisation as your children explore the Land of Dreams, where literally anything is possible. Maybe they will meet the Sandman, or the King of the Flying Banana-People... or a cat who can play the banjo at the same time as doing metaphysical calculations. (Well, I did say that ANYTHING was possible). Your children will work together to create their own amazing devised play based around the theme of The Land of Dreams and they'll also be making their own costumes and props in our daily craft sessions. Children will be put in age groups of no more than 10, to make sure everyone gets loads of attention. What better time than to revisit the wonderful world of Matilda? With the recent release of Matilda the Musical Movie, this is every child’s current favourite story. We’ll be stepping into the classic tale, borrowing bits from the movies and stage show, making up our own elements to create a completely unique version of the show! One thing is for sure, Trunchbull will be terrifying, Wormwood will make you wince and Matilda will be MAGICAL!
