Ramadan is a holy month for Muslims all around the world when fasting is observed from sunrise until sunset. It's a time of reflection, charity and good deeds. It brings families and friends together in festive gatherings to break their fast or Iftar. Eid al-Fitr is celebrated by Muslims worldwide because it marks the end of the month-long dawn-to-dusk fasting of Ramadan. When is Ramadan & Eid al-Fitr? Ramadan began on 28 February and is due to end on 30 March 2025. The month of Ramadan usually lasts between 29 and 30 days, depending on the sighting of the New Moon. In the Islamic calendar, Eid al-Fitr takes place on the first day of Shawwal which is an additional month of continuous goodness following Ramadan. This is the day in which Eid prayers take place, and families and friends gather in celebration to mark the end of Ramadan.
