FAQ: How to find kid-friendly fun in London this Halloween
Are there any free Halloween activities for kids to do in London?
For free Halloween fun, head to Hyde Park for their learning centre’s Halloween Discovery days. The event is particularly great for little ones aged 3-11. They’ll get to explore a nature trail before settling down for spooky storytelling sessions. There’s also a witch’s den with ‘feely boxes’ to investigate.
Are there any Halloween events for babies and toddlers?
Most of the events above welcome all ages. However, some are more suitable for tots.
With its foam, bubbles and games, Halloween Spooktacular family rave in Hackney Wick is aimed at babies and kids aged up to eight. At The Discover Children’s Story Centre, the Colin and Duck Adventure trail welcomes all ages. The book featuring the vegetarian vampire is aimed at toddlers between three and six, though.
Hobbledown Heath, which hosts Hobble’ween this year, say they primarily cater to children aged two to 13.
What are the best places in London for kids to trick or treat?
London is home to many neighbourhoods where kids can score free sweets. Barnet was named the city’s most family-friendly borough by a 2025 study.(2) A bit closer to the city, you’ll find Walthamstow. The area is increasingly popular with young families and took top spot in similar studies from previous years.
A couple of years ago, a Reddit thread sparked much discussion of “designated” trick or treat areas.(3) Parts of Hampstead and Kensington were recommended. Both are great places to see Halloween decorations, too. One rule of thumb that came up was to look out for houses with glowing pumpkins outside.
