Join us for a fun, hands-on session where children and parents learn the basics of sewing, patching, and upcycling while creating their very own Halloween costume from scratch. This special spooky theme is all about imagination, creativity, and reusing materials to make something unique and eco-friendly for Halloween. Along the way, children will develop their fine motor skills, gain confidence in handling sewing tools safely, and discover how fabrics and textiles can be reused in playful, inventive ways. Together, we’ll turn everyday bits and bobs into something magical — a costume to wear proudly this Halloween! Itinerary 1st Session: Planning & Accessories Begin by dreaming up your costume: colours, style, and magical details. Together we’ll create the first attribute of your character, such as a broom, wizard stick, or wand. Don’t forget to bring a black t-shirt to start accessorising! 2nd Session: Magic Shoes A good costume starts from the ground up! In this session, you’ll design and make custom shoe covers to transform everyday shoes into the perfect finishing touch for your character. 3rd Session: Hats On! No witch, wizard, or sorcerer is complete without a fabulous hat. This challenging but exciting workshop introduces children to sewing and pattern-making while crafting a hat that shows off their style. 4th Session: Cape & Catwalk In our grand finale, we’ll create flowing capes fit for magical beings. Once finished, we’ll celebrate with a Halloween catwalk and photoshoot in our autumn garden. Costumes ready just in time for spooky season! About Little Fixers Little Fixers is our playful, hands-on programme for families with children under 5. Through themed Stay & Play sessions and creative workshops, we introduce little ones to early repair skills, tool-handling, and nature-based STEM play. Parents and caregivers can also join in with sessions on upcycling, babywear repair and sustainable living. We hope to spark a love of making and mending from the very start.
