Little Hands Design is a charity providing hands-on climate change education through fashion and textiles.
We are teaching and learning with the next generation of designers, consumers and decision makers what sustainable fashion is and practical skills towards a more sustainable life.
We are a group of fashion designers, dressmakers and Design and Technology teachers, all passionate about contributing to a more mindful way with fashion.
Our children’s classes, adult classes and Green Stitch Social Club are run at the London School of Mosaic in Gospel Oak and also running children’s classes directly at primary and secondary schools.
We are committed to ethical and sustainable fashion practices and to provide a safe, creative environment based on the ‘mindfulness’ approach.

About Thoughtful Fashion Club
Join us for our weekly classes focussing on sustainable fashion and design.These practical, hands-on, fun-packed sessions will teach you how to develop your own unique dress sense and how to design and make clothes and accessories whilst being mindful of the environment.
You will learn:
• To use the sewing machine
• Clothes and pattern making
• Design skills with a purpose
• Understand lifecycle of things
• Hands-on life skills
• Discover the MAGIC THREE - giggles, curiosity, play
Suitable for ages 8-18
THINGS TO REMEMBER
In this captivating course, you'll learn how to develop your own unique dress sense and become a responsible designer, maker and consumer.
Through practical, hands-on activities, you'll dive into the world of fashion and learn how to design and make clothes and accessories. But that's not all – we'll do it all while being mindful of our impacts on the environment.
We're incredibly fortunate to have the support of leading fashion brands, who have kindly donated their industry waste materials of the highest quality.
This means you'll have the opportunity to experiment and create with materials that would have otherwise gone to waste.
Throughout the term, you will become familiar with the sewing machines, essential to clothing construction.
We will also explore the art of mending, altering, and thrifting, giving new life to old garments.
You will learn about the life cycle of clothes and become a socially conscious influencer, making informed choices about your fashion consumption.
The class will introduce you to new technologies aimed at reducing the impact of fashion on the environment.
This exciting learning opportunity is perfect for students aged 8-18 who have a keen interest in fashion and a desire to unleash their creativity in a mindful way.
If you're working towards completing your Duke of Edinburgh "skills" (from age 12+ yrs), this workshop is an excellent choice.
You will not only gain valuable fashion skills but can also continue with us for your "volunteering" (from age 14+ yrs).
