Located in the heart of London, the RA is a place where art is made, exhibited and debated. For over 250 years, the RA has existed to champion art and artists. Enjoy our expanded campus with free displays, new spots to eat, drink and shop, and much more. We're run by the Royal Academicians, artists and architects elected by their peers in recognition of their exceptional work. We're home to Britain's longest established art school, the RA Schools. Every year since 1768 we've held an annual Summer Exhibition, the largest open-submission art exhibition in the world. We present our collection of art and architecture in free displays throughout our home on Piccadilly. And we put on world-class exhibitions of art from around the world, welcoming hundreds of thousands of people to our galleries each year.

About Family studio: cut-out worlds

Family studios are supported by Jeanne and William Callanan

Construct a familiar scene at this workshop for families.

At this Family Studio, artist Eva Jonas will draw inspiration from our Architecture Window exhibition.

She'll invite you to experiment with various construction techniques using cardboard, wooden dowels, and blocks to create models that hold a scene you see regularly — from your bedroom, school, or bus window.

Our family studio programme is a series of monthly art-making workshops that are drop-in and open to families with children of all ages.

These sessions can be incredibly popular.

We run a first come, first served system. You may be asked to wait, or return later.

We try to accommodate everyone while ensuring the space doesn't become overcrowded.
