The Fashion School was founded in 2012 by Caroline Gration, with the aim to promote a healthy attitude towards fashion and individuality to children, teenagers and adults. Our tutors have at least a BA (Hons) in Fashion or Textiles, are DBS certified, first aid trained, Arts Award advisers and have experience within the industry and/or running their own business. We offer after school and Saturday classes for children and teens of all levels, exciting half term and holiday workshops, fashion trips, luxe fashion workshops for grown ups, and creative birthday parties for children. We’re an Arts Award centre! Our tutors are Bronze & Silver Arts Award advisers and teach this nationally recognised GCSE level qualification – ideal for aspiring fashion/textile students who want to create their own brief. We’ve been part of the Duke of Edinburgh awards scheme since 2012.

About Art Club

Our art club is a fun and experimental space where children learn new techniques and skills inspired by famous artworks and artists.

Our tutor Jodie, a practising artist with a professional background working in leading contemporary and modern art galleries aims to inspire children and unleash their inner creative.

Previous drawing skills not required, just a love of art and an open mind.

This term we are beginning by diving into Fauvism and Surrealism focussing on the artist Joan Miró and even looking at why his dreamlike patterned paintings managed to upset the establishment.

We believe the young mind absorbs more when the hands are busy so all this newly acquired knowledge soaks in sideways whilst the children are working in their personal hardback sketchbooks, building sculptures and installations, being their own performance art or painting on canvas.

All materials supplied by TFS, just bring an apron or old shirt.
