Hamnet: Bring your Baby Film Screening

Hamnet: Bring your Baby Film Screening

A heartfelt tale of Tudor romance, witchcraft, theatre, and grief. Paul Mescal and Jessie Buckley excel in their Oscar tipped performances as William Shakeapeare and his wife Agnes. 1580 England. Impoverished Latin tutor William Shakespeare meets free-spirited Agnes, and the pair, captivated by one another, strike up a torrid affair that leads to marriage and three children. Yet as Will pursues a budding theatre career in far-away London, Agnes anchors the domestic sphere alone. When tragedy strikes, the couple’s once-unshakable bond is tested, but their shared experience sets the stage for the creation of Shakespeare’s timeless masterpiece, Hamlet. The Garden Cinema View: Chloé Zhao roars back to form with this handsome (not just Paul Mescal) and heartfelt tale of Tudor romance, witchcraft, theatre, and grief. The establishing scenes are magical. As is Zhao’s signature style, the natural landscapes seem to breathe with life. Interior sequences are shot in painterly geometrical framings, with cinematographer Łukasz Żal bringing some of visual sensibility of his work on The Zone of Interest (don’t worry, similarities end there). The narrative sags a little in the middle, heavy with loss, and feeling the absence of the playwright, even as Jessie Buckley’s performance remains impressive. The conclusion soars, however, and proves that the play is truly the thing. A chance for parents and carers with babies of twelve months and under to see the latest releases in a relaxed environment. These screenings will have raised lighting, reduced volume levels, and captions/subtitles where possible. You can feel free to get up and walk around as much as you need to during the screening, and babies can cry and coo without disturbing other cinema-goers. Seating is unreserved and we try to limit the capacity of each screening, so that you will be able to spread out. Who can attend? No baby, no entry. These screenings are designed for parents and carers with little ones of twelve months and under. Where the certificate is U, PG or 12A, older children may also attend, although a baby (0-12 months) is still required. What does it cost? Tickets are priced at £10 for adults, which includes a token for a complimentary tea or coffee. There is no charge for babies, but we ask that you still book a separate (free) ticket for them. There are £5 tickets available for older children (14 or under), but please be mindful of the BBFC certificate for the film you’re booking for. Are there baby changing facilities? Baby changing facilities are available in our accessible toilet between the box office and the Atrium Bar. Can I bring a pram or stroller? Due to limited space, we encourage you to bring your little one in a sling, carry cot, or car seat where possible. But if you need to use a pram, we ask that these are left in our cloakroom between the box office and the Atrium Bar.

Sing and Sign Stage 1, Chelsea

Help your baby express themselves and create endless fun learning together while their speech develops. Covering lots of different themes relating to your baby’s world, we use songs, rhymes, instruments, toys and props in a fun, relaxed class. Babies use all kinds of signs and gestures as a natural part of learning to talk. Encouraging your baby with signs like milk, more, change nappy or tired will help your baby communicate. Our classes follow the same structure every week, which is something that the babies soon learn to recognise and respond to very positively. Each week we introduce new signs and then "spiral learn", so that signs and songs are repeated throughout the term. Babies love the fun and the music w while adults effortlessly learn all the signs they need for day-to-day life with their baby. It's natural, it's easy and lots of fun for both of you. This class is suitable for babies aged 5 months - 14 months. What is baby signing? Babies use all kinds of signs and gestures as a natural part of learning to talk. Encouraging your baby with extra signs like milk, more, change nappy or tired will help your baby communicate. Baby signing with Sing and Sign is easy because we make it fun to learn! Your baby will recognise important words sooner and can use the signs to “talk” to you before speech. Developed with the help of Speech and Language professionals and recommended by experts, Sing and Sign is Britain’s longest running and best loved baby signing programme. Sing and Sign is an award-winning programme specialising in encouraging your baby's communication!

Join us to help you and your toddler in educational and fun filled musical activities designed to stimulate and support early communication and your baby’s speech and language development. It’s natural, easy and great fun! This class is suitable for children aged 14 months - 26 months old.

Junior Kickers SE London, 2.5-3.5yrs

Our Junior Kickers class is suitable for children aged 2.5yrs - 3.5yrs old. Junior Kickers builds on the foundation skills and football basics learnt in Little Kicks. Using a familiar structure, children are challenged both physically and mentally. For those children who started in Little Kicks, independent participation is encouraged. If your child has just joined us you may need to stay close by for a few weeks, but the ultimate goal is for children to be able to participate on their own. The format remains learning through play and because children are allowed to work to their own ability, it is suitable for complete beginners. Classes are £46.80 per month and run on a rolling monthly billing cycle (*plus a one-off registration fee which includes your child’s shirt and shorts of £25.00).
