Aerial and Circus Skills Camp

Aerial and Circus Skills Camp

Come learn to fly with us and perform tricks and moves that you didn’t know were possible! Children will learn tricks and moves on all the equipment, all the time developing their strength, co-ordination and agility! They work in small groups with an experienced teacher so that everyone is challenged at their level. We rig everything according to the group and ability so children will learn moves close to the floor before taking those moves to the air as they increase in confidence and ability. We encourage children of all levels to come and join us and release their inner circus! Suitable for beginners & seasoned flyers! What to wear: Please can everyone wear leggings or tracksuit bottoms and a t-shirt that covers the shoulders. It's a good idea to have a long sleeved top in a bag too, just in case they need a little extra protection. Shorts aren't great for aerial as its better to protect the skin. No zips or jewellery in the class please as they damage the fabric. You don't need shoes or socks for the activity either. What to bring: A bottle of water is a good idea, a packed lunch and a few snacks as there will also be 2 breaks between the different pieces of equipment. The class emphasis at Flying Fantastic is to have fun while learning new skills, and to experience the power of being upside down!

Then we jump straight into forces fun and investigate different forces. We become fearless fighters of Friction Force to speed up our model cars and then use Magnetic Force to race mini cars around their own designed tracks, then discover the chemical forces behind crazy chemical reactions! Day 2: Living It Up! We become body detectives and discover the hidden world inside when we find out all about our internal organs. Then we measure our heart rates and make our own heart model! We end with everybody’s favourite session – Slime! Day 3: Super Structures! In a day focused on engineering challenges we compete in teams to construct the tallest towers – Easier said than done! We then design our own strong home to withstand some powerful forces. Then we use our knowledge of momentum to construct marble mazes, but in this race the slowest marble wins! Day 4: Magic Materials! We explore the properties of some materials and find interesting ways to use them. We investigate how to alter or enhance a materials’ properties, then the children think very carefully about how to use some unusual materials to separate a number of different mixtures. Then we investigate the properties of insulating materials to keep our pet penguins warm! Day 5: Epic Journeys! Happy Birthday, the Chunnel is 30+ years old! We celebrate and investigate this fantastic feat of engineering. Then we discover how an aeroplane stays in the air and try to keep our own creations airborne for as long as possible. Then we take a much smaller journey deep into the brain to find out how messages travel around the body to the brain. Finally we take an energy journey from potential to kinetic energy via a rubber band! Extended Hours Available 8.30am-4pm (£10 extra per day)

London Holiday Clubs for Kids FAQ

How can I find the best London holiday clubs near me?

Use Loopla’s search tool to find our full list of half term camps. You can filter by area and category to find the closest option to your family.

Are there any holiday clubs for three year olds?

Half term clubs and summer camps tend to cater to school-age children. There are sometimes exceptions for three-year-olds, though.

The Loopla search tool allows you to filter by age to find a class, event or camp suitable for your little one.

Are there any free holiday clubs in London?

As businesses, organisers generally can’t afford to offer free spots. But some of London’s best kid-friendly museums and galleries offer no-cost activities at half term.

These are great opportunities for youngsters to have fun while learning or making friends.

For example, the British Museum planned a week of artist-led workshops for its week-long Halloween family festival.

For something more outdoorsy, Royal Parks often run Discovery Days during school holidays, too.
