In our Beginner Ballet classes, we use a wide variety of music including funky re-mixed nursery rhymes, classical masterpieces and much more. Classes are delivered by friendly professional teachers who deliver this non-stop energy-packed class that will have your little one’s confidence soaring. Social skills, self-awareness, awareness of others, sharing, taking turns and many other important development lifelong skills are implemented. We use lots of different props to enhance the fun, and parents or carers can be as involved as much or little as their child wants or needs. This Beginner Ballet class is suitable for children aged 1-2 years old.

Holding hands with partners in Monkey’s circle dances often makes the grown-ups feel very happy too! TIME TO PLAY Composing music is something that comes naturally to our Jiggety-Jiggers! Their strong musical foundation gives them super musical confidence. Props, images, music, stories and poems inspire our little monkeys as they create and perform their own special music. TIME TO SLEEP Most of our classes end with a little time for quiet reflection. Our Jiggety-Jiggers are gently reminded to practise new songs at home using some song words which may be printed from the Monkey Music Club. They may also be invited to bring something from home, to show in class the following week, as part of class topic discussions. Ding-Dong children are now ready to learn to read music - this is a huge milestone and paves the way for a bright musical future! TIME TO SING Singing comes naturally to Monkey and his oldest friends. Everyone is invited to take the lead in singing games and to sing a solo ‘spot’ (not compulsory!). Familiar songs form the basis for vocal improvisation and encourage children to share story ideas. TIME TO MOVE Playing together and inventing dances is what our Ding-Dongers like to do best! Dance of the ‘Autumn Leaves’ is always a moving highlight of our Ding-Dong year! TIME TO PLAY Learning to read music is an integral element to each class. These clever monkeys use their new reading skills to compose and write their own music which they play with their friends. TIME TO LISTEN Each week the children focus on finding out more about an instrument from the orchestra. As they begin to recognise the different orchestral sounds, the children begin to express their preferences. This is excellent preparation for choosing which instrument to learn to play later on! Adult & Me Ballet & Dance, 2-3yrs
Our Adult and Me program has been designed to introduce young children to the exciting and joyful world of dance through the building blocks of posture, stretch, creative improvisation and rhythm. Taught by exceptional professional ballerina’s through a series of exercises, stories and songs that lay the groundwork for proper dance technique. Basic elements of stretches, warm-ups, taking turns, traveling steps, mime, dance class etiquette and many more are introduced. They will start to incorporate individual dance steps into combinations, work on coordination skills using both arms and legs as well as meeting Michael and Margo the much loved Knightsbridge Ballet Teddies. The inspiring teacher holds your child’s interest, and the class will be positively affecting your child’s self esteem and nurturing their imagination & creativity. Boys and girls will be dancing through stories, using play props such as scarves, crowns & dressing up providing a magical experience that will leave them asking when their next class with DDA & Knightsbridge Ballet is.
