Ding-Dong children are now ready to learn to read music - this is a huge milestone and paves the way for a bright musical future! TIME TO SING Singing comes naturally to Monkey and his oldest friends. Everyone is invited to take the lead in singing games and to sing a solo ‘spot’ (not compulsory!). Familiar songs form the basis for vocal improvisation and encourage children to share story ideas. TIME TO MOVE Playing together and inventing dances is what our Ding-Dongers like to do best! Dance of the ‘Autumn Leaves’ is always a moving highlight of our Ding-Dong year! TIME TO PLAY Learning to read music is an integral element to each class. These clever monkeys use their new reading skills to compose and write their own music which they play with their friends. TIME TO LISTEN Each week the children focus on finding out more about an instrument from the orchestra. As they begin to recognise the different orchestral sounds, the children begin to express their preferences. This is excellent preparation for choosing which instrument to learn to play later on! About MiniJam: Semi Formal Classes Fun and modern early-years education through music. MiniJam is as much about the coffees and natter before/after class as it is about the interactive music and sensory experience for the babies and children. We have pooled some of London’s top session musicians to create funky versions of nursery rhymes to jam along to. We have also teamed up with psychologist Dr Gabby Bray DPsych, CPsychol, B.A.(Hons) (Oxon) in order to structure our termly programme to best benefit your little one. Catchy sounds and up beat tunes for making Monkey Music! TIME TO SING Music and language have many things in common and Monkey’s action songs have been especially written to support your child's early language development. Colourful props aid visual memory while repeated actions reinforce a feel for the ‘steady beat’. TIME TO MOVE Moving and dancing freely around the room with Monkey encourages your child to express the music that they hear with their whole bodies. Exercising to music forms and strengthens neural bridges that are necessary for later learning. TIME TO PLAY The Monkey Music Band offers your child the opportunity to practise fine motor skills using hand held percussion instruments. Band members need a certain amount of self awareness and self discipline which comes with regular band practice! TIME TO SLEEP Toddlers need active time for exercise and quieter times for calmer activities. Listening is a critical life skill which we nurture with relaxing and soothing music to conclude each Monkey Music class experience. Our Monkey Music Heigh-Ho classes are stage two for toddlers from 12 months.

Older toddlers have fun with their friends and develop a strong musical foundation for their future learning. TIME TO SING Songs for dressing up and telling simple stories! ‘Pretending’ is an important new area of learning as exploration and self expression builds self confidence. Through positive music interaction with each other, our toddlers are also learning important lessons about boundaries and how to handle frustration! TIME TO MOVE Toddlers are keen to get to know each other – bigger more exciting props such as hoops and parachute are excellent for sharing and making friends! Holding hands with partners in Monkey’s circle dances often makes the grown-ups feel very happy too! TIME TO PLAY Composing music is something that comes naturally to our Jiggety-Jiggers! Their strong musical foundation gives them super musical confidence. Props, images, music, stories and poems inspire our little monkeys as they create and perform their own special music. TIME TO SLEEP Most of our classes end with a little time for quiet reflection. Our Jiggety-Jiggers are gently reminded to practise new songs at home using some song words which may be printed from the Monkey Music Club. They may also be invited to bring something from home, to show in class the following week, as part of class topic discussions. Our Monkey Music Jiggety-Jig classes are Stage three for 2 + 3 years old.

Boppin' Bunnies 18m - 4yrs
In our young toddler classes you will find a wide range of activities to stimulate this very active age group! We use counting and movement songs and different instruments to hold the growing attention span of your little ones. This class is more physical as young toddlers benefit greatly from a lot of ‘hands - on’ musical play with their adults! We start to introduce concepts that are developed fully in the pre-school classes, such as listening and responding, counting, colours, getting out & packing away the instruments, and how to bring calm moments to the class using teddies and lullabies. We will encourage you to dance with your little ones, hold their hands, swing them round, lift them up, bounce them around, make them laugh and harness all their raw energy into having fun together! These Boppin' Bunnies classes are suitable for children aged 18 months - 4 years old. Per term = £9/class | Per half term = £10/class | 1st time taster = £8 & Drop-in = £11 both subject to availability.
