Catchy sounds and up beat tunes for making Monkey Music! TIME TO SING Music and language have many things in common and Monkey’s action songs have been especially written to support your child's early language development. Colourful props aid visual memory while repeated actions reinforce a feel for the ā€˜steady beat’. TIME TO MOVE Moving and dancing freely around the room with Monkey encourages your child to express the music that they hear with their whole bodies. Exercising to music forms and strengthens neural bridges that are necessary for later learning. TIME TO PLAY The Monkey Music Band offers your child the opportunity to practise fine motor skills using hand held percussion instruments. Band members need a certain amount of self awareness and self discipline which comes with regular band practice! TIME TO SLEEP Toddlers need active time for exercise and quieter times for calmer activities. Listening is a critical life skill which we nurture with relaxing and soothing music to conclude each Monkey Music class experience. Our Monkey Music Heigh-Ho classes are stage two for toddlers from 12 months.

Gentle songs and fascinating sounds nurture a lifetime of music and learning. TIME TO SING Your baby loves the sound of your singing voice. Monkey’s gentle songs and lullabies have been especially composed for you both to share precious moments. Song words are closely linked to rhythmic body movements which relieve your baby’s digestion and any stress they may be feeling. TIME TO MOVE Sensory props and stimulating visual experiences encourage Rock ā€˜n’ Roll babies to move their bodies and make sounds with their voices – this interaction activates the brain to release chemicals that help memory. TIME TO PLAY Baby – friendly percussion instruments release magical sounds and captivate and enthral our Rock ā€˜n’ Rollers! By reaching out and grasping for the sounds your baby will be stimulating their physical and emotional development. TIME TO SLEEP The more a baby is cuddled and held, the more secure and independent he will be when he gets older. Monkey’s soothing lullabies nurture a lifetime of music and are available as a digital download for you to learn and sing to your baby every day. A confident child is a musical child. Little Kicks

Little Kicks

Little Kicks is the perfect introduction to the fun world of Little Kickers and is suitable for children aged 1.5yrs - 2.5yrs old. Children are introduced to the basics of football, dribbling, striking, goal scoring etc. in a play-oriented yet structured format, using child-friendly but realistic football equipment. Each child is given the opportunity to work within their ability level but taught in a group environment. Classes also provide a fantastic opportunity for you to assist in your child’s early education, helping them develop physically as well as improving cognitive and social skills. Key Features: • Parent participation required • 45-minute class • Weekly classes • One coach with up to 12 children OR two coaches for 13 to 16 children • Each child receives a football kit • 4 unique badges to collect across the Little Kicks programme Learning to Learn The main focus of Little Kicks is what we call ā€˜learning to learn’. Our coaches are taught specific techniques that enable children to get the most out of our classes. We believe that play is one of the greatest development tools and when combined with repetition and structure, ensures effective learning. Classes involve a number of games that require parents to put on their running shoes and get actively involved in the session. However, some games are specifically targeted at developing independence. These transition games mean children as young as two will be able to play independently of their parent or guardian. FUNdamentals & Badge Certification Little Kicks teaches the fundamentals of football in a fun learning environment through a series of games using our tried and tested structure. Our Little Kicks receive quarterly badges which highlight the key physical, cognitive and football skills they are exposed to in our programme. Our Little Kickers absolutely love showing their badges to their teammates and family! The stages of development below outline our expectations for this age group: Social, Emotional & Cognitive • Short attention span, erratic participation. • Needs assistance throughout session. • At times will be frustrated at lack of comprehension of sessions. • Lacks awareness of others. Physical • May struggle with balance and co-ordination. • Introduced to different types of movement (running, jumping etc). • Finds balancing difficult. Football Specific • Capable of basic, one paced kicking. • Can maintain the stop position with help. • Frequently unable to dribble (the ball!). • Quickly learns to enjoy scoring goals. The primary goal is to settle children into the structure of the session, improve their confidence and attention, develop their basic motor skills and develop a good kicking technique. Price per month from Ā£43.50 - depending on location (*plus a one off registration fee which includes your child’s shirt and shorts of Ā£25.00)

FAQ: How to find classes for newborns + baby activities near you

When should I start baby classes with a newborn?

You can start baby classes with a newborn as soon as you feel ready. But some parents prefer to wait until after getting their baby's vaccines and the first GP check-up. These typically happen after 6-8 weeks.

The main thing is to check whether the baby class is suitable for your infant’s age before booking.

What are the benefits of baby classes?

Classes for newborns and older infants are designed to promote physical, emotional and mental development. They often involve sensory play so that babies can explore the world through touch, feel, sound and smell.

They are also a great way for you to bond not just with your little one, but other parents, too. Talking to those facing similar problems and uncertainties can be great for your mental and emotional health.

What is sensory play for babies?

Sensory play for babies aims to promote healthy development by stimulating all the senses: vision, hearing, touch and smell.

Baby sensory classes can be structured or free-flowing. But you'll generally find lots of materials and props like rattles, scarves or bubble blowers.

Sensory classes can do wonders for babies' development. Experts suggest that they can help lay the foundation for more advanced cognitive and motor skills later in life.

It's thought to promote key social skills, too. Infants often find themselves interacting with others for the first time and adapting to their new friends. (1)

What do infant music classes involve?

Infant music classes expose babies to the joys of music, rhythm, and movement. You can expect lots of singing, exploring simple instruments or listening to catchy melodies and rhymes.

Reserach suggests music is great for babies’ development in all sorts of ways. It can help with language skills, emotional development and even maths ability. (2)
